So I went back today to get some pics.  Black interior, auto consol car.  Looks to be F8 green, from what little paint is still on it.  Definatly would need some work.

Did you get the VIN?  :icon_smile_big:

are you going to buy it?

Nope.  I've got my hands full with my Barracuda, don't need another Mopar right now, even if I could afford it.  If it's for sale, I'll just pass it along to someone else.

No, I didn't get the vin, as I couldn't see it, and I wasn't going to open the door in order to read it.  I'm going back tommorow to talk with the owner, hopefully.  I might be able to get it then, and find out if it's for sale or not.

Looks that way.  It was last registered in 87, according to the license plate.  Probably sat in someones backyard since then.

472 R/T SE

Shouldn't even have to ask for VIN info, ghost knows.  ;)

Good old Nebraska thunderstorm did that car no favors.  I remember the dealership's totalling out cars that got hammered by hail growing up in western Kansas.

Cool find Ghost. If the guy is selling fairly cheap, you should seriously consider it regardless of other projects. Please grab that VIN and Fender Tag info if you get a chance.

Well, it's not for sale.  Didn't get to speak to the owner, but I did talk to some people who knew him.  Apparently, he's owned this car since he was in High School.  One guy told me that he had it running a couple years ago, and it was able to do a decent burnout, so I'm thinking it might be a 383 car.

Oh, and I got the vin, so Chris, you have a PM.

A high school ride, that car isn't going anyplace.

So is it at a shop for repair or just sitting outside?

The owner runs the shop.  It just sits out there.  The hail damage is from a storm we had a couple years ago.  I'm assuming that the windshield and rear window were broken by the same storm.

What's it decode out to?

Charger 500 w/318. Still, well worth trying to grab.  :yesnod:

TheGhost

I would, if I could, but the way the neighbors talked, he's taking this car to the grave.

An update:  Apparently, he was willing to sell it, after all.  A friend, and former co-worker, is buying it for 3k.

Yes, Chris, I gave him the address to the 70 registry.  I also gave him the address to this site.  She'll be on the road again.  Maybe not soon, but she will be on the road again. ;D

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

limey

Good price on what is ultimately a fairly complete car...sure it needs some work, but still with 2nd gen prices the way they are....good luck to your friend! he has made agood deal...

Well, this was an old thread.  Although, maybe someone else submitted it to cars in barns, but I didn't.
