I live in SW FL and cannot seem to find many people with Mopar knowledge as far as best combinations. I am building a 451 stroker kit from 440 source. I am using a set of 452 iron heads with 2.14  1.81 valves and 1.5 harland sharp roller rockers...these have been ported and polished and will have intake and exh port matching. car is a 727 with a Hughes 3000 stall converter, 742 case suregrip with a 4.30 gear. i will be running 31" tall mickey street slicks. I currently have a torker II highrise and a 650 dual feed but i am not commited to these.
I will be using this to cruise and it will see track use. as I stated, not many Mopar guys around and would like to impress people at the track. I want to make sure i choose the best cam only 1 time and any input on carb and intake options would be greatly appreciated.
this will be going into a 73 Charger SE that will be all glass on the front end.
Thanks

I'd go with aluminum heads.
As for cam, kinda depends on street or track. Contrary to popular belief, you can't have both.

There is no one best cam. Many will work but more information is required.

What kind of fuel do you want to use? What is your compression ratio (do not guess)? What type of cam do you want to use, hydraulic, solid, roller and idle qualities?

stroked73se

compression ratio will finish at about 10.1 as the comb chamber on the heads will be about 80cc . as far as fuel 93 for cruising but our local track carries all the way up to Sunoco SR18 118 octane so that will not be an issue

With that stall I'd go with the Comp XS282S extreme energy flat tappet solid.  :2thumbs:

Personally I think the 650 carb is too small and if it were me I'd go with a 800-850cfm, and Definately switch to aluminum heads. Easily an extra 50hp ( UNPORTED) being left on the table.  :Twocents: :popcrn: :icon_smile_big:

Ron,
Thank you for the info on the cam. I like the specs on that. Is there any advantage/disadvantage over solid vs hydraulic?  Also will this perform well with the high rise intake and would you bump the CFM on the carb?  I don't want to rob from 1 to give to another. Also aside from alum heads which I will most likely go to, if it was you how would you do top end to compliment the bottom end?
Thanks for all advice
