So what's the difference? I know the actual side markers are different, but are the cut-outs for the markers different in size or shape? I can't tell the difference from the pictures on the net.

Yes cut-outs for the markers are different. Larger on the 70. Longer for sure and I think wider/taller also. Otherwise quarters are the same.

We had to modify our quarters to fit the proper 70 lights.  They are around an inch and a half long towards the rear bumper. The height of the opening is the same!

Also, the 1970 models used LIGHTED markers while the 1969 cars used reflectors only.

68s had lighted round markers, 69s rectangular reflectors and 70's lighted rectangular markers.
What's up with Chrysler skipping the lighted marker in 69  :shruggy:

think Chrysler  found a legal loop hole , for the E series 69 model year  , not to have illuminated side marker lights ,  no lights , = Chrysler saved money  :yesnod:

I believe Allpar said the rules stated that for 68/69, you could either run lights or reflectors.  The designer for 68 wanted lights.  The designer for 69 wanted reflectors.  The rules changed for 70, which required both.

This subject was posted a couple months back, for which, I remember it.

I had always heard Tan Tops version before, I thought the same stylists were responsible for both 68 and 69?
