Well, there was a lot of acid going around back then.  It's an outrageous car no matter how you look at it though so maybe outrageous paint schemes suit them?

That's Romeo Benedicts car. He was a disc jockey and had speakers mounted inside the nose. He used it for live remotes back in the 70's. A friend of mine, Dub Clenney, in Mt. Ida, Arkansas had this car stored until he sold it last year. I would love to have bought it, but I didn't realize that he was going to sell it. I guess someone's going to restore it back to it's original color, hemi orange. Would have been great to reunite Romeo and his old car but, unfortunately, Romeo passed away just a few years ago.

If I'm not mistaken Romeo painted that car with wild paint schemes many times during the 70's.
