AVS Tuning Question

Hey fellas,

I have a Carter AVS #4429 sitting atop my 440.  It has a single center air bleed screw in the center.  Right now it's adjusted all the way down in it's seat, which I believe is maximum rich setting.  Does anyone know what the factory settings are (ie how many turns off of fully seated position)?  The lower two mixture screws are sealed.

Thanks,

BLADE

it is 2 & a half turns , for the duel adjusting screws , but the single screw may be the sameĀ  :-\

The lower screws are sealed, so I won't be adjusting those.  I guess I'll just start playing with it while the engine is running and see what works best.....

According to my 69 factory manual on the AVS carb you turn the screw all the way in lightly bottom it out with your fingers only and back out 1 full turn for approximate adjustment, turn counterclockwise for richer and clockwise for leaner if you need to adjust it.

The top screw is an adjustable idle air bleed screw and the bottom ones are fuel mixture screws.
