I know painted racing mirrors were not available on the '69. Were there any available for a '70?
My car came originally with the driver's side chrome manual mirror only. I want a passenger side mirror. I put another chrome manual mirror on my passenger side and I can't see anything!
I was wondering the other day if anyone has ever put a pair of factory painted (or chromed) mirrors of a '71-74 A,B or E. If so what did you use and can you post pics.
I don't know how it would look, but at this point in time I want to drive the Charger as much as possible and I don't like not having a working passenger side mirror.

I've found the passenger side one on the 2nd gens to be largely decorative.  There is a bi blind spot ther with that C pillar.  For that matter I find the same thing on the 1st gens.

The racing/sport mirrors were option G36 which became available mid-year (Feb 12, 1970).

They were color keyed to cars with EB5, EF8, FJ5, EK2, FK5, FY1 and FC7.....for other body colors they mirrors were chrome.

They are pretty rare since as a mid-year option most people (including dealer salesmen) did not know it was available...not included in sales material.   *****Courtesy of 70 charger Registry and Dodge Don****

Do you have a picture or can you point me to a link?
Does anyone reproduce them?

The only way to get any use out of the 2nd-gen passenger door mirror is to put a slightly convex mirror glass in it.

With a flat mirror it's too small to get much chance at seeing anything.

With a very convex mirror glass, it renders the image of the cars in your blind spot too small to understand where they are.

Hmmm...Thanks for this thread.  I've never like the stock mirrors on my '69... :scratchchin:

Do a search for "Ralley Mirror" here, I have info and picks somewhere here.  :2thumbs:

"Correct" 70 B Body Ralley mirrors are NOT a mirror image of each other like A Body cars are. The pass. side is slanted more to allow better visibility in use. The A Body drivers side looks the same but the cable for remote is much longer to clear how the window moves inside the door. Nobody I know of makes these in "paint to match" in any form and nobody is making the 1 year only 70 B Body pass. side.
I got lucky on eBay, I was just looking for Ralley mirrors for my car. I got one for the drivers side in chrome then bought the pass. side for painted. When that one showed up it looked so slightly different I started the topic that is linked in the link. Later I found the drivers side for paint and sold the Chrome to a member here.
The info I found online told that for B Body the chrome was the least used as it was largely unknown hence rarer then painted. So what you want is kinda hard to find in any form now. Chrome A Body are available for both sides new and come up used but most likely pitted. A Body base is identical on both sides to B Body.  :scratchchin:
That is about all I can tell ya!

yeah , think your right  , was looking for one when I put mine on  ,  but never located one the correct size at the time :scratchchin:    also mounted it  slightly further forward than the stock location , the  mirror is a bout  1/8 -1/4 of an inch away  from the vent window glass , when opening it & closing it ,  found that works as good as it can be for me
