First gen engine bay... (rest of the car was painted when I got it). Bought this one at age 22. This was a removal of the old engine, clean and paint the engine bay. Put in a new/different rebuilt 318 poly engine. The car had been sitting for many years, but now it is running, braking, licensed, drivable and back on the road.

Another one of mine... bought at age 18 in above condition, had been sitting for many years, put in 383 4bbl, automatic, grille, did the brakes, got it licensed and drivable, etc. Sold a couple years ago.

Bought this car from a little old lady when I was 18. Got it back on the road, running, driving licensed, drivable. Cleaned engine bay and engine and painted the engine in the car (among other things). Sold it two years after I bought it.

Another '66 Charger engine bay. Bought the car when I was 16. It was white primer with a blue engine bay and had a 383. Painted it back to the factory spanish red and swapped in a 440.

More recent project. Another one that just sat for 20 or 30 years as someone's parts car and I got it back on the road, running, braking, licensed and drivable. With more to follow on this one, then I'll sell it.

You have seen some of these before.  The before one is in 1970 (still has plastic tabs on doors from shipping).  Middle one is about 2011, and last is 2013.
Who in their right mind would say

"The science should not stand in the way of this."?

Science is just observation and hypothesis.  Policy stands in the way.........

Or maybe it protects us.

I suppose it depends on the specific case.....
