Why are salesmen so freakin stupid???

working on this street rod lately has tested my patience.

I need a neutral safety switch for a th350 trans. "what is it in?" doesnt matter just get one for a th350. "i have to look it up." Fine, then get me a nuetral safety switch for a 41 chevy with a 78 camaro from end, a 77 malibu 350 and a 75 chevy something or other th350 trans and a 75 chevy truck steering column. "........" <---insert blank look

When I bought an intake for my Charger, the guy (who also happened to be a Mopar guy) told me that a 400 wasn't offered in 1973 in the Charger.  I told him I would bet him five bucks on the spot that it was the original motor, and he quickly called his bluff.

I don't know, he was being kind of a douche bag the whole time anyways.  I like Checker more than Auto Zone, but at Checker I have to deal with a guy like that.  No good local parts stores open past 5 or so

Went to the dealer here with the wife and wanted to look at the Magnum. 2 sales guys came out and started talking the Charger up. ( I was in mine) I said " nope ain't seen no new Chargers, when they bring them back ? " So the guy tried to talk the wife into one, she snaps back with. " OK so whats that car and pointed to a used Intrp, he told her what it was. She then points to a NEON and said what is that called, once again he told her. She pointed at the 06 and once again " whats that one ? " Oh he said that is the NEW and improved Dodge Charger, fast, sleek and elegant". Her reply was, " hmmmm so why does it have the exact same frontend as the magnum?, the other cars don't. And you say NEW and improved huh, does that mean you have found away for a four door to double in value after 30 years like my husbands car? You know a real Charger !

Yes I took her straight to Wal-Mart for a shopping spree.

as a life long car sales man, i would agree that there are alot of stupid ones around!

if any of you guys are looking for a car/truck and i cant help you,go to the local place and ask for the senior salesman,if he has been around a while, they usually are honest and more helpful than the green peas-ive been here for going on 6 years,and see it all the time-people come to me because the recognize my face,and realize i have the knowledge to help them,and know where to get the answer if i dont know it!

having a real big block charger parked in my space doesnt hurt either!!

hey, I have driven my '68 Charger by Val's periodically and have seen your Charger in the lot - I remember laughing at your license plate border that read "real Chargers don't have 4 doors".

I haven't got any good salesman stories yet but I have had my car called a camaro and a....you guessed it mustang!  Morons!   It has happened twice.  Both times a dude comes strolling up after I have pulled in somewhere and acting VERY confident, like they KNOW cars well...they have said, "Nice Camaro! or Nice Mustang!..
