Is there a wire on the bulkhead in engine bay side that i could tap into for when u turn key to power that it will power something?

cdr

you could come off the ign wire & put a relay in the circuit.

The double blue wire on one side of the ballast resistor is a good "key on" power source...the current load of "something" will determine if a relay is needed.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

just be careful....that wire on the ballast is not fuse protected

yah, I think your the one who put a fuse there I remember something Plan to do also.

I will tap into that then and put a relay its for a fan pusher in the car.

Then I plan to add a radio to the car so I need someting on the inside also.

A383Wing

yea..I put a fuse in the wire terminal that goes to voltage regulator....the VR shorted out and that wire fried all the way to the ignition switch.

"IF" you are going to tap off that wire, and "IF" you are going to use it for fan, you will need to use a relay for sure. Personally, I would find another "ign on" source if I were you. Use a relay for the fan defiantly, bit I would tap off the fuse box inside or run another "ign on" wire through the firewall for fan.

The radio issue is easy, just use the original radio power wire for your new sound system

the blue wire at ballast, alternator field and regulator ( also ECU, but traced yellow ) is the only source wich provides 12 volts in RUN ( not in start though )

the fuse protection for this circuit is just the main fuse link wich protects all the car but takes a while to blown.

Radio power... red at plug is the power from acc circuit, BUT if you need constant source to memory presets, around the front speaker will find a source for it ( pink source with female bullet terminals ). If this source is full due car options, the fuse box have a male prong inserted from batt circuit. Other sources requires splices ( cigar lighter, glove box light )

Nacho,
Thx for that info along with wing.  I'm gonna tap into that ballast with a fuse breaker to the relay for that one single fan.

Thx again guys....very helpful....
