Saw this for sale in front of a guys house. What I learned about it.

1971 Charger 500.
Console car with pistol grip shifter.
318 automatic,.
Has dash vents, so may be an A/C car?
No rust holes in the body.
Some rust spots from a poor repaint years ago. Paint is poor and faded.
Does have it's share of dents and dings.
Interior is just okay, carpet is bad, seats are okay, not ripped. Interior is okay but needs a redo.

missing grille.

The owner said it was stored in a shipping container for 17 years before he bought it. It has 60,000 miles on it and runs decent. What would you think it is worth, runs and drives. A little later I will tell what he is asking for it.  :yesnod:

1972 Charger Topper Special, 360ci, 46RH OD trans, 8 3/4 sure grip with 3.91 gear, 14.93@92 mph.
1973 Charger Rallye, 4 speed, muscle rat. Whatever engine right now?

Just a guess but somewhere between $12-$15k should buy that car. In perfect condition I can't see it being worth more than $22k or so.

That much eh? Maybe I should put mine up for sale... :scratchchin:
71 Charger SE 383 4V
72 Galaxie 500 400 2V

From your description I would not want to pay more than 5 thousand but I am a cheap SOB. I'm shocked at what some of these bring on ebay so maybe 8 or 9 thousand. I would guess the owner is probably asking twice that much.

Maybe somewhere between 8- 12K being an older resto with a 318.

6k max.......

I know u scour the Craig's ad Paul and so do I here in pho and Tucson.  I do t know if u remember but a man had a purple plum 72 charger, air worked like yours, paint good, etc...he sold it for 5k.  He put it on eBay and no takers he wanted 10k.  The condition was better than the one u posted IMO

The owner parks this 71 in the driveway. He has no garage, just a carport with another vehicle in it. I have been seeing this Charger there for a couple of years now. This week a for sale sign goes in the window. I was curious about it, naturally, it is a Charger. It is a 50 footer as you can tell in the pics. I was a little shocked at the price. He wants $11,000 for it. I would not have expected that for a "needy" small block auto car?

Last year, or year before (??),  I saw a 72 Topper go through Russo and Steele for just a little more. Around $12k I think. It was a pristine survivor, 318, auto, column shift. I hope this guy gets what he wants for his 71. Better for the rest of us Charger owners.

Sold my Charger unfortunately....never got it finished.

7k or more feels about right . It's a 500, stick but a small block car. Something you can drive and restore is a positive.
Mopars are like the Hot Wheel/Matchbox cars from when I was a kid ...  Bad A@@ and Cool!!!
