It should fit on the u-haul trailer.  As to whether its a good deal or not, at the end of the day only you can judge that.

Yes the car will fit on a U-Haul trailer. When I bought my 72 I did not have a trailer at the time large enough for a full size car so I rented a U-haul trailer.
You don't need to pay any fees from state to state. With a tandem axle trailer you will pay double on any tolls you go through.
My company truck is a 08 Silverado, 5.3 with tow package. With the car and trailer you will be at the upper end of the tow range.Before you leave the U-haul dealer make sure the trailer brakes work.

Mopar rule of thumb. Whatever you expect to spend on the car to fix it up, double that amount. That might get you close.

Not that you probably don't know this... but the front of the car will be VERY HEAVY...  When I trailered mine home in 2011 I wish I would have backed it on to trailer.  It towed VERY HEAVY!!  

OK.. after reading all the comments and reconsidering the implications of having so much back weight I am glad I did NOT back the car on the trailer.  The GOOD LORD was looking out for me and my wife's safety.

If you decide to back the car onto the trailer be sure you back in on far enough to have a positive tongue weight on the trucks hitch! This is very important!  You don't want the tail wagging the dog so to speak.
You'll also need tie downs heavy duty enough for securing a car.

If you have access to a trailer where you live and also an Equalizer type hitch you can borrow or rent and set it up properly to the pickup you plan to use, this will make towing your Charger easier on the driver, the pickup and provide a more stable and safe tow.

Tongue weight is very important. I don't think you could back the car on far enough to get positive tongue weight. You would be better off not pulling the car all the way forward on the trailer.
There is a rule of thumb, I believe tongue weight should equal 10% of the total haul weight, so you would be looking at 500-600 lbs.

I hope it is the Charger of your dreams, but I would lose the hood. Power bulge hood is way classier.

I shipped mine from Bloomington, IN to Syracuse and the cost was $500 even. I would think it is cheaper to ship/transport to go yourself and deal with the hassle.

congrats on the purchase. hope all goes well whichever way you decide to get it home. i think i would ship it when you break down the figures.  my buddy bought a mustang in n.carolina and shipped to st. louis for 650.00 you have to figure a hotel and food into your figures also. but if you do drive it, check your tie downs often.

Way nicer car. It's gona be a project but at least it's a driver. Front end rebuild needed for sure (they all do), nice hood and some quarter panel work. Interior looks good just needs cleaning. Hopefully motor works good and doesn't burn oil. And no tranny slippage. Trailer is a good choice

Never back a car on a trailer, unless it has no motor/trans.  You need the majority of the weight on the front of the trailer.  Like others have said, you will fish tail and crash.

thanks everybody i am soooo effin excited, i would ship it but it wouldnt be much more to drive so im going that route. mostly because then even though i have to give him a deposit of 500 very soon, at least i can see the car and see if anything is majorly wrong or if i for sure want it you know? and maybe even talk him down a little more, i think this is the best plan. i can not wait! when i get her back i will clean her alll up try to adjust that hood a little(he says it just needs to be adjusted) and take some pics. thank you guys for all your support i think this one is the one for me, it was so much a smarter and better move than getting that other one.

hey guys i got a question i noticed on the pics of the car that the fender gap is huge! i was wondering what you guys thought that was are those smaller tires cause i know they arent original but i cant tell n im tryin to see what the stock gap was if any but cant find any pics

looks to be 14" tires on the car. 70 series on front, maybe 60's on the back.  you can go to a 15" wheel or larger to fill the wheel well up better. i went to a 15" on mine.

Looks like the torsion bars in front have been adjusted up, and maybe air shocks in the rear. I guess you'll find out when you get there.  It looks odd! So does the tall tires in front and short tires in the rear.

okay so i was looking at the gap in the fender so i called him and he said that there was a 3 inch lift on it from a combination of torsion bars in front, air shocks in back and the  leaf springs for a truck...does anyone know about this setup lol

I don't know if you can crank it up 3 inches in the front just by doing a torsion bar adjustment but it wouldn't make for a very safe front end if you did.  I'm not sure about the truck springs either.  I don't know if they fit.  Three inches from air shocks could do it to the back but in any case, it all can be easily undone and needs to be.  The whole front end geometry would be completely messed up.

i actually used truck leaf springs back in the 70's to lift my 68 charger in the back. got that trick from a guy that owned the local junk yard.

okay guys one more thing...my ride says he doesnt wanna use a trailer, he wants to use the tow dolly because it is lighter and will put less strain on the truck. i know the car is rwd but he says you can just put the car in neutral...will this damage anything?

Pull the driveshaft if you are doing that.
