metal tube?

Stupid question. On a 72 charger there are a few tube like things under the dash. About as round as a nickel and about 1 inch long. 3 post connector. What are these? Cant find info about them at all. Would have a picture if the now ex GF didnt insist on cleaning things up not knowing what they are......
