Kenny Wayne Shepherd’s 1972 Charger is missing

About 30 miles north of Hot Rod's offices, right in the heart of the San Fernando Valley, is Picture Car Warehouse, a facility that maintains a fleet of vehicles for the film industry. They also built guitarist Kenny Wayne Shepherd's 1972 Dodge Charger, which has been featured in our sister publication Popular Hot Rodding. However, some unsavory characters managed to steal the Charger and four other vehicles early Wednesday, November 6, 2013.

The Charger was waiting to be picked up for a shoot, so no one blinked when the car left the premises around 5:45 am. Yet other vehicles were stolen too, such as a 2005 Mini Cooper, BMW M3, Ford Econoline E-350 van, and an employee's F-150 pickup, so it's likely Kenny's car was more a victim of happenstance instead of being a target of thieves.

As of this writing, three cars have been recovered and two girls have been taken into custody, although it's more likely they know the thieves rather than being the actual pilferers. If you know anything about the whereabouts of this Charger, please call the Los Angeles Police Dept. West Valley Division at 818-374-7611.
