Anyone have pics of a 68 spare tire setup?

 I've got a big J-hook that doesn't seem to fit right and apparently the '69 setup is very different. Does anyone have a pic of the 68 spare tire hardware and how it mounts?

That part is used to hold the jack in place.

Curtis, that bracket looks like it's for a B-body spare tire hold down, NOT Charger. Chargers used a spring to hold down the jack, and the jack baseplate with a large wingnut to hold down the spare.

I should have clarified, that part is used to hold the jack in place on a CORONET.  At least it appears to be the same as the ones in my '69 Super Bee, and '68 Coronet Deluxe.

I thought I had the wrong stud but turns out it's correct (but rusty). I also had one of those black brackets among my junk but it isn't right for the car.

Also it looks like the spare isn't going to fit in the right spot. It's a 245/60/15 which appears to be too wide to fit off to the left like the narrower stock tires were.

Curtis, I don't mean to hi-jack (sorry....  ) your thread, but my '68 jack and stand don't fit together. Any experts here on which is proper? I've posted two measured pics showing the size of the male and female ends. When I know I will then pursue the proper piece.

I'll post my spare tire set-up if you still need it.

Strange, all 3 years of my cars have the bolt with the threaded rod. I always thought the hook was a B-body thing as well.

Ive had 68s both ways. The hook style were on early cars from my experiance anyway.

Don't know if this helps but both of these are off a 68. One has 5/16 threads and one is 3/8. One has encapsulated nut with wing nut. One just has wing nut.

Thanks for the pics everyone. Except you, Dan. FWIW, I wouldn't worry about your jack setup unless you actually plan on using it, which is ill-advised. Display purposes only.

I'm hurt....      

No, I have an Aluminum racing floor jack that lives in my trunk. But I would like to know what the hell I have as far as a supposedly factory jack. And then, in a pinch, it could work. In my book form always follows function....

Get one of those little flat files and start working on the ends of that horizontal slot. 1/8" off both ends ought to do it.
