When I was paying .19 cents for a gallon of gas, I would have laughed my ass off if you told me it would be around 3 bucks!  And sometimes up to 4 bucks!

:smilielol:

I agree with you KC.
I've never owned anything but a MoPar. Can you say that?

QuoteJust askin'...   Energy isn't "free"!    I remember 40 years ago when they said we had 20 years left of fossil fuel. now it's up to 500 years, due to new finds and better ways to extract it.

We have 500 years of fossil fuels?  Maybe if we extract everything regardless of the cost & rate of recovery.

It's kind of like saying we have a million more old Mopars to build because we can technically restore every car that has not been crushed.  It might work on paper but it's not a practical reality.

We always "find more" FFs because we become willing to pay more than yesterday for it.  If the public offered to pay $100/gallon for gasoline tomorrow then the oil corps would suddenly "find" a hell of a lot more oil right here in the USA.  Its not because the oil corps were lying before, its because the size of the supply depends on how much they can invest to get it.  Just like the number of "restorable" cars in existence depends on how much the owner will invest in fixing it.

However, energy still isn't free and solar and wind are a long way off from becoming viable sources for the same reason.  As the rates rise it becomes "affordable" to install solar panels.  There is a good reason most of these wind farms have been taxpayer subsidized.

An interesting little read.

Indeed, slowly preparing for 'FALLOUT 3' in real life...  Nuclear powered cars, it's a sign!   :coolgleamA: :popcrn:

Joking aside, it would be nice to see us overcome/curb our dependence on fossil fuel in our lifetime.  We'd do better as a species...

PLUS!  Competition breeds innovation, with new cars based on alternate energy being developed, it may be a nice lil stimulus for our economy :)

No doubt the results of a govt. investigation will be that Tesla will soon be receiving palletized shipments of $100 bills in the coming months.

If there is any left after Obamacare.

Left? Ha! There hasn't been any "left" since about 1918. We're only $17 trillion in the hole now so what's another $500 million or so? :rotz:

 True.  Just print more.

Yeah, each new $100 bill probably costs $120 to make. :'(

This is not much different then Canadian currency that was introduced over 10 years ago, which has now been replaced by Austrailan style plastic bills.
