I tried posting pics it doesn't down load them
I'm from Australia what are u running

Even if you could "tap" the header to get it all to fit, it still sounds like it's too close for comfort...

cdr

i am running patriot headers on a low deck block,so the header is a little lower than on a 440. i use my face book to host my pictures so it makes it easy to post pics on this site,,otherwise you have to resize pics to below 200kb.

Use photobucket for your 'pics.  Once I upload pictures onto their site I just have to copy the link and that's it-instantly shareable Charger porn, without having to resize it or anything else...

Need to see photos, not a big fan of dimpling then
Not sure of the routing on the tti's , too long ago I sent mine back and went with doug's , but that was to do with more on what heads I have,
Are they close anywhere else, steering box, on other brands its usually the third pipe or cylinder 5 that's close, get photos up and then we can maybe give some advice

ozchargerguy

Thanks guys but I dimpled them little and grinned down the copper thread that comes out of the starter also just order a heat wrap for the starter hopefully all turns out for me
The only problem with buying things from the other side of the world is u can't take them back
And it was no2 pipe that just touched

the steering box was fine everywhere but tha starter but I think I sorted it out now

Back N Black

I have TTI headers on a 440, with a mini starter and no problem.
The black extensions must be removed. Take the cover off and unbolt the extension ,use the remaining short terminals.

ozchargerguy

That what I did I also massaged the header and grinded back the bronze thread now I have bout 5mil clearance I did buy a heat sheild
It's the other side of the starter not the top...

myk

Isn't that too close?  Or is that sort of clearance typical in header-equipped cars?

ozchargerguy

Its close but with ceramic barrier coated headers and heat sheild should be
Ok I think well I'm sure there is others out there running similar on there big blocks

And that's what I'd like to know: are other header equipped cars running with similarly tight clearances...

ozchargerguy

When you go over 2inch primarys they get tight

For the money you pay for tti I would be pissed. I would never take a hammer to a set of headers that cost that much. They charge the money because they are suppose to be so much better and fit perfect.

ozchargerguy

I know well when u live so far you haven't got many options you make with what u got not happy now torsion bar touches on opposite side bullshit I tell ya tti is suppose to get back to me will see what they say

That's the impression I had as well-the practically $1K price tag was supposed to guarantee trouble from fitment issues...

Bob T

I've also heard that over 2'' can create fitment issues Oz, not that it does any good for you at the moment. I've got 2" Headers by Doug ceramic coated and they fit nice and snug, no torsion bar rubs and a mini starter fitted too. I have noticed I am rubbing them on the pas shock tower though when I really lean on it and they have dented accordingly, I should really look at torque clamps on the motor now I guess

ozchargerguy

Thanks bob i didn't know bout all these issues till now I've been doin a resto on her for the past 2yrs
The bloke who built the motor sent them in the create
Now the passanger side header is going rub the torsion bar I'm pretty
Pissed off spent loads of money on the car

Bob T

Damn. Yeah, it always costs more and being so far away from the shipping origin point out here, you always get stiffed for freight/customs/gst garbage I know it too. Still, there's plenty of fine meals that can be made with sausages  when you have it done :icon_smile_big:

Maybe whack up a few pics when you get chance mate, keen to see how it looks

Ok, will email you shortly.

Some tips for loading pics on here
1) The pic image size must be under 200kb, so send it to yourself and shrink it or use zoombrowser or whatever your pc has
2) the pic must have a unique name like ozcharger440leavesbigskidsoutsidehisneighbourshouse or some combo of letters and numbers to distinguish it from any other pic on the site
