So I'm still on the fence about the color I'll paint my 69. I would like to keep one color from the fender tag, so I'm thinking I'll keep the tan interior. Right now R4 red without a vinyl top is leading the way, but I'm open to other ideas. I'd like to see pics of tan interior chargers that are painted white, F8 green, or black. These options were available from the factory. Please post pics if you have any.

Also, even though a tan interior with b7 or b9 blue was not available, what do you think it would look like?

Thanks

Since orange isn't on the list :D  I'd have to agree with ghoste.  White is hard to get clean, and black is hard to keep clean.

I like the idea od white/tan.  :Twocents:

Tan/green.......white/tan.......both combos could look really nice. Try and work a photoshop
picture of your choices. Some guys on the forum here are quite talented with Photoshop.

If you want to wash it everytime, or every 2nd time before you go out, then paint it black

R4 is under done in my humble opinion so I would like to see a few more R4 cars out there, but also keen on F8/F8 since C500 got underway on his....

Personally a black interior for me is the least desireable.

White car with tan or red interior looks great. A red car with a tan interior cant look that bad either.
Whatever you do, dont put a black interior in a red or a white car, but hey thats my personal taste.

NOS is nice, turbo's are neat, but when it comes to Mopars, there's no need to cheat...

Red with a light tan or white interior always looks good, IMO

Any time I have ever seen a black '69 with a tan interior, I couldn't help but think, "It's the General Lee back before the Dukes got it!"  (They once did a flashback episode and showed the pre-Dukes GL wearing black paint.)

I would vote with you to keep the tan interior whatever color you paint it.  IMO black interiors are overdone and too hot in the summer.  Tan looks good and goes with many different exterior colors.  About the only more versatile interior shade would be gray which was never offered from the factory.

Any thoughts on dark blue with tan interior?

Here's a link that shows blue with tan on an old MG.

Tan is pretty nuetral and will work well with the blue.

For me, the  drawback to the tan is the "Eddie Bauer effect". Especially, with green, blue and black.

For my tastes R4 Charger Red is a natural.  All of the stock colors of greens, reds, oranges, bronze, tan, yellows will look great.  I think the blues have possibility, but I would think B3 would look the best, followed by B5, but I'm not so sure about B7.  Black with tan looks nice too, though black can be expensive on the bodywork side to get looking great.

The R4 red is a lighter, more "orangy" red than a true red like R6 red is, like mine. I believe the R4 red will look great with the tan interior. R6 red is probably more suited to black or white interior.
Here is a picture of my R6 red Charger and its' white interior.

WHAT? .... This old thing?    Ha!! ....  It took the better part of 5 years, some serious help by my co-worker, friend and restorer and a boatload of money to get it where it is now!  I am just thankful I lived long enough to see it "mostly" finished!  They really are never quite finished!  Check out this original motor! Driving it around here is an "experience" to say the least and I DO drive it!

Ghoste

Its gorgeous for sure.  Where is "here"?

Ghoste, if you are asking me, I live in Spring Tx. which is about 30 miles north of downtown Houston.

Thanks,   it has been a long time getting it to where it is!  It sat in my garage, unrestored, from 1982 til 2008 patiently waiting for the restoration!  I actually bought the Charger in 1976 and drove it all around Houston until 1982 when I put it away. "Life" got in the way numerous times and I turned down many a tempting offer to sell it. As bad as I needed the money at certain times in my life, I just could not bring myself to sell it.

Really happy I resisted the temptation now !!!
