Hey,
I currently have a Vortech V-2 set up on my 2002 GT mustang and am thinking of adding a centrifugal to my 68 R/T Charger. I am considering robbing the blower off the mustang and putting it on my Charger. I was wondering if anyone has ever done anything like this before? I know I will need new piping bent and built and a "power hat", but is there a bracket and pulley set for motor that I can buy to mount it? Its a 1978 440. Just thought I could make best use of the parts that I currently have. Thoughts?

THe size of the turbo must match the displacement of the engine.  The Mustangs are low to mid 300 ci, big difference to the 440.  If you did put it on, it would not perform well enough to warrant the installation hassle.  Go with a Procharger F1R, if your engine is set to take the boost, you will have more than enough to fry the tires. :2thumbs:

I am doing something similar to a stroked small block.  I know Paxton makes brackets that fit BB for their blowers but they usually only sell them in a kit.  Used ones are extremely hard to come by for mopar, go figure.  I would call Vortech and see if they sell just mounting hardware.  Most centrifugal kits also mount on passenger side so they come with necessary hardware to move the alternator down.

Thanks guys! I did review some more info on the V-2 and it appears to be too small for the 440. However, the procharger is more than enough. I will give Vortech a call and see what they say just to be sure!
