2010 6.1 puffin smoke at startup

So today I noticed my recently purchased SRT Chally with about 12k on it puffed out a blue smoke burst  at initial crank up. Way too early for oil leaks into the cylinders by the valves at 12k I'd say.  Stopped by the service dept  just to get some info.  Said it was under warranty and they've had a few in for it but they replaced the complete heads.  Anyone heard of this being an issue with the 6.1?  I hate the thought of someone going into the engine as with my luck it ain't never the same afterwards with leaks and other issues from being tore down.  Any thoughts?

Could it just be condinsation.I would think if something was bad in the engine it would blow smoke all the time.

It was blue smoke.   1st time I saw it.   Been setting maybe 4 days.    Typical way the old 383 I had with a lot of miles did when the valve stems seals got hard and it leaked and burned off with first crank from sitting  a while. I'm gonna have to eyeball every time now to check.  Not familier with the new stuff to even know how its designed to take a good guess.

1.  Will they just warrentee the heads and give them to you. They get paid for the labor. You keep the heads and see if it gets really bad. ( depends on whether Chrysler wants the old heads back)

2. Friends 04 Hemi lost oil pressure and seized with 4K.miles .  Chrysler only put in a new short block. He has over 230K. on the repaired engine so far. No problems with the repair job.

Most come in the shop with no oil in their cars and have no idea where it went at 'only' 275k miles. They ain't seeing any blue smoke...

Maybe an injector leaking or leaked and washed it out        First start of the day.

Cooter, could the blue smoke be getting through because the cats are not warmed up yet? If it was a older Dodge I would say valve stem seal.

I have a 2012 SRT8 Challenger (392)..and I occasionally get the blue smoke start up. From what I've read it's actually pretty normal for the new hemi's.
If u haven't gotten a oil catch can get one...I installed one on mine about 200 miles ago and it had oil in it already. Apparently, these motors are famous for sucking oil from the PCV into the intake...to the point of it pooling in the intake manifold...and it could cause blue smoke.
My car was bought used, but only has 14K miles on it.
