Water pump sensor boot

More fun stuff!

My violet wire running from the bulkhead connector to the water pump temp sensor had a little accident and needs replacing.  Instead of splicing, I am going to run a new wire with a new packard 56 terminal, however on the sensor itself, the terminal is a 90° rubber boot.  Where do I find one of those and how do they attach to the wire?  Are they like a heat shrink type of deal?

The sender end of the wire is a molded connector, not a separate boot. A replacement with a short pigtail might be available, I always splice the original connector with a short pigtail onto a new wire.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

Good to know!  Then I'll simply remove the bad splice and do it right with a good butt connector and some dual wall adhesive heat shrink.   :2thumbs:

I would not use a "butt connector" on the wire, instead, I would put a small piece of heat shrink over the wire, and just solder the two wires together after twisting them around each other in a straight line, then push the shrink tube over the soldered part and heat it up.

The butt connector will show a bulge in the shrink wrap

:iagree: I pesonally like to add a dab of liquid e-tape to the solder joint as well.

after your advice dino , I attacked my old harness and unwrapped it for that particular angled boot and after unwrapping got that single wire and enough to reach bulkhead, used it for my brake switch warning light,
