68 RR, general opinions, and what can I use on my Charger?

Hey Guys,
   This add has really caught my interest:

Just wondering, is the price fair?  Does it have a lot of parts I'll be able to use on my Charger?  How cool would it be ripping around in that thing without a care?  I'm tempted to just add to the LOC and grab it, but the T-bird does keep me grounded for now...

Not a heck of alot you could use on your Charger
Drive train and that is it
If you took all that stuff of the car you would be lucky to get $3000 for what was left (if the frame was perfect)
Does not have stamped patch pannels just flat steel for patches in the floor and trunk which does not help

Seems like you can buy it, get it on the road, drive it...have fun with it, was checking it out as well....seems not bad...in a lot better shape than a 10k charger will go for in these parts!

I agree it is overpriced.
But there is still quite a bit of stuff that would interchange with your Charger.

Like others have said, the drivetrain. Obviously, exterior body panels no.
But much of the inner structure, side glass/exterior trim, vent windows, much of the inside door guts, etc would.
The dash, no (standard dash vs rallye dash in Chargers). But the pedals, seats, upper dash pad, & other trim does interchange.

Bottom line is it's a lot of money for something to consider as a parts car. But not a bad fixer-upper.

That's a RR in decent drivable shape, prime for making a really nice RR. As is.........$4-5k. Who knows what lurks underneath?

I stopped and looked at that car a few months ago on the way to my cottage. I noticed the VIN wasn't a RM, from what I recall the VIN identified the car as sport satellite. Hope this helps with your decision.

The dash frame is different for that gauge setup. The very top is the same, the rest is different.

At this point it's really just the interior and emblems that I'm going to need.  I've got two grilles that I'm likely going to have to make one good one out of.  So in reality it'll be all of the window trim and that other fun stuff, I think I'm just going to buy the door skins new, and find a good set of leather seats from a wreckers that I can make fit with my car and look decent.

That was more my thought process as well.  I was just thinking about what I'd do with it after I was done ripping her around.

BUT!  That plan is on hiatus for now, just found a guy with a fully rebuilt Dana-60 on Kijiji for 1400$...  He's bringing it down for me today.    Motive gears, 3.55 Posi, Yukon axles.  Should go very well with my setup.

It has none of the brakes or plates on the ends so I thought they were asking a little too much

Was originally up for 1700$ back when I first started looking for a Charger in March if you remember, Dave.

The guy came and dropped it off just now without any issue.    Everything inside and out looks great, all brand new (Yukon axels, Green bearings still in boxes), turned the yoke and she feels smooth as glass.  Gonna pick up a disc kit over the winter and put her all together.  Checking online; they usually go for upwards of 2000$ complete, I think I made out alright considering we're in Canada. 

Either way it saves me the headaches of looking for another one down the road, or rebuilding the 8 3/4 open diff that's in the car now.  This way it's one less thing to worry about braking when I've got the 68 on the road

Just make sure it is the same size yoke as the drive shaft has (there is a wide and a narrow one)

Will likely end up buying the matching yoke for the driveshaft as I have to get one made for me.  Did not get one with the car, and will have too also match up with the Viper transmission.
