Does anyone have a clue what happened to this website or if it is coming back? Says it is suspended???

It was a little bit before my time as far as me getting my charger, but there was a lot of backlash and fallout between a few folks who ran or owned the site and all.  If you do a search for the sites name, or Travis Bell over on CGLFC.com you will be able to read a it about the history of it all. 

On another note, do you have a GL or are you resto-modding your charger into one?  I have been working on mine for a few years now.

LMAO!!  For some reason, I had read North American General Lee Fanclub! I was skimming through the unread topics and saw north above or around your thread.  CGFL... Hmm I haven't been on it since before Christmas so I have no clue.

I don't go on their site hardly at all anymore, I have owned my General Lee since 2003 and it was an old barn find I restored. I don't follow much of the forums anymore but I decided to go to the Cglfc site and it was gone so I was suprised. Always liked this site anyways.

 now I cant  remember  what general lee site it was  may well been the confederate  one or think there is a nother one run by a  dale & kit ??  
 
ever since I was a kid been a fan of DOH ,  although would never paint my charger up as a GL , can appreciate the GL ed up chargers & like looking at them    I use to video tape the tv series &   try freeze framing to see how many different generals were used etc  , so when I found this  general lee site good few years ago ( maybe 10  years ago ) , that had a whole  on going thread about  lee 1 lee 2 lee 3 lee 4  & so on with screen captures  depecting what lee that was etc  , though I would join &  contribute any info I could remember , & in another thread anyone else remember or know for sure  , in one show  i'm sure I remember a general with 68 tail lights jumping away from the camera , on the right had side of the screen  blar blar  
  well signed up etc  was waiting for email conformation ,  so I could long on ,    6months  nothing  year nothing   two years nothing    sure I sent a couple of emails too , but no reply  , thought it was odd at the time

That sounds like the CGLFC.   I've heard of a few people complaining the same thing.  I'm not a member over there, but do visit to read up on some info.  Wasn't a lot of action over there anyway.   But, I do hope it gets put back up.  I'm not done reading over there.

So it was just internal politics that killed it?

That error is from the hosting company. It means they haven't paid. I haven't the slightest clue as to why but it's possible that they have a recurring bill and the credit card expired or they pay a year in advance and the check got lost in the Christmas avalanche at the Post Office. Or the owner just gave up. We've seen it happen before.

My account was locked due to inactivity while I was deployed so I sent an email to the address on the site, but I heard nothing for a few months.  I had to contact the one of the admins via facebook to get my account unlocked.

There was a FB post from the webmaster/admin. Stating if anybody could help him get it back up and running he was "all ears".

ahhhhhh hah....  I see.  I love the site, but like some of you I haven't seen very much activity on it in the past few months.

Archive.org has some old snapshots of the site in their wayback machine.  They're ugly and the formatting is terrible but if there's any threads there you want to grab and archive for future use, you should be able to find them if you're willing to brave the horrendous formatting.

Don!! What's up my brother! Haven't see or heard from you in forever. Hope all is well. I never get on the CGLFC anymore, little shocking to hear it's down. Like Troy said probably a billing issue or owner decided to let it fade into oblivion. Cool to see you still have that general!

I noticed it was down too!! That sucks cause I loved reading the threads about all of the general lee information. Sadly there hasn't been but maybe 10-15 new topics in the past year. I've been looking at it for 5-6 years but I never could get them to accept me as a member either.  It would be nice to get it back up so people can get good and accurate information while making a general lee.

I hope it gets cranked up again in the near future.  I posted a BUNCH on info on there.  As already mentioned, there hasn't been much action on there in the last few months, but it would still be good to research old posts for info.
