I'm getting ready to start the body work on my 74 charger se.  I'm toying with the idea of not reinstalling the vinyl top.  However, I cannot find any images of 73-74 charger SE's with the vinyl top removed.  I'm curious to see what the side louvers on the opera glass look like without the vinyl top.  Does anyone have any pics in which I could look at to help make my decision?

I did a quick search and I didn't find any in my collection.  Its only my opinion so don't consider for yourself but if it were mine I think I'd leave the vinyl with those windows.

Another vote for the vinyl. The area between the opera windows and the rear window is to wide to be just painted. I've seen a few done this way and I'm not crazy about it.

I vote keep the vinyl. Like many of the others, I have seen them on EBay and never bothered to right click and save because I think they look so bad.  Just my  :Twocents:.
I just did a search and found a couple on line.
My other peev is be sure it is the correct vinyl ... it is called cobra grain.

I vote to keep the vinyl . On a note , not all SE's had Cobra Grain . Cobra Grain roofs were not that common .

looking at that red one above, I like it without the vinyl top....it's very different......most of these cars you see have the tops...

think outside the box...leave it off

Gotta disagree with ya on that.  73 and 74 SE louvers were cobra grain and the roof matches. 71 and 2 SE's were not. And in 74 there was an opra window which had the standard vinyl roof.
You can put any roof on the SE but it won't match the grain on the louvers.

Based on this pic my vote is lose the vinyl top, but then I really don't care for them much. Never have.

This is what vinyl tops make me think of:

Mopar Nut

Leave it off, looks better without.
