just watched F&F 6 ,not a bad show if you  watch it as just  another action flic(expendables 1&2 etc )  :2thumbs:  has a nice Jensen interceptor in it ,so the question is "is this a mopar ?"  .i'v been interested in them for a while ,something different to take to mopar shows as well as being able to wave the mopar flag at all british days . anyone else like them ? am I mad ( yes I know they rust away while you watch ) but a big block powered british sports car  :scratchchin:  seems like a win, win

Well, it is Mopar powered.  It would be welcome at just about any Mopar event that I know of.

Ghoste

Yeah, I think most Mopar fans would be more impressed with it than not.  Even a lot of the British fans would likely find it a cool car.

Bob T

The guy in the next street that I've got to know has a V6 powered scimitar, which is the interceptor's little brother. He has put a set of triple Weber 45's on it and with the 4 speed it really moves out and handles well. He has owned it probably around 20 years now and imported when he moved back from the UK. Has a cool framed print of it on a narrow English country lane with hedgerows either side doing a huge burnout  :lol:

The interceptors would be a handful with a 440
Old Dog, Old Tricks.

Cool car. The guys on Wheeler Dealers did up a white one a season or two back. With a 440 in it too...  :drool5:

Man, I can't imaging what it would be like driving a car like that with a 440 mill. I say if you have the simolians buy it.

Tell me why it has a "rust away as you watch" reputation. I know nothing about these cars.  :shruggy:
FLY NAVY/Marine Corps or take the bus!

polywideblock

I don't know why but like a lot of pommy cars it just has a reputation for the floors /sills (rockers) rusting out even on low mileage ones . what has got me really interested is apparently in 71 when they moved from the 383 to the 440 is that  approx. 250 were built with the 440 6pack  :o  now that would move out  :scratchchin:

Have a friend with one...   he likes it but he'll probably wheel and deal it sooner than later.     He's into British cars like Triumphs and Jags also.
They are pretty sharp looking.
I dunno if they're screamers considering the 440s are usually smoggers.   :Twocents:

What's funny is the one in the movie looks like a new Challenger from the front if you squint a little:

[ŌŌ]ƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖ[ŌŌ] = 68
[ŌŌ][ƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖ][ƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖ][ŌŌ] = 69
(ŌŌ)[ƗƗƗƗƗƗƗƗƗƗƗƗƗƗƗƗƗƗ](ŌŌ) = 70

Fred

A lot of squinting is needed! In fact, I think you practically have to be blind.  :icon_smile_big:

Tomorrow is promised to no one.......drive your Charger today.

Fred

A mate of mine has got a 4 wheel drive  440 Jensen interceptor. I think that's a pretty rare breed. Says he's been offered AU$250.00 for it.

Ghoste

Seriously?  Can you get some pics, I've never even heard of one.  Is it still Mopar powered?

Bob T

Weirdly enough I was at a local mopar engine rebuilding workshop yesterday and there was a pale metallic green interceptor just leaving as I got there, think I've only ever seen one other locally

Tight confines.  Not the easiest car to work on.

Ghoste

Yeah, kind of reminds me of looking at a late 70's Vette under there. :lol:

at least your looking at mopar muscle not a rat or a mouse   :yesnod:

I've always liked them & remember an exotic car dealer on Franklin Turnpike in Mahwah, NJ right near the NY border that had one on his lot for a while. I would stop in & talk to the guy every now & then & look the Jensen over. The one he had was a 383 car, silver with a tan leather interior.

The convertibles looked nice except for the roof folded back, it was huge. You'd think that a fairly small car would have a fairly small roof structure.  :shruggy:

I used to find them somewhat interesting, but not any longer. I'd take an old B-body over a Jenson any day.

A Jensen is a car.   A Jenson is a Button.    You could buy a LOT of old B-bodies with a Jenson.  :smilielol:

Seeing as the title of this thread is "jenson interseptor", shouldn't you be taking on the o/p's spelling?   ;)
