how can a 68 have a 919 build date,i thought they started with a letter ,lets say d19 ,for the months before January 1968 ?

Nope.. 9 is for 9th month, which was Sept. They started building the 68s in late 67..

Letters start with Oct and same every year.

THANX   i know they started in 67 but know i understand the system 919 is sep 67, a,b & c is oct,nov,dec 67 then it starts 1 for jan
