69 440 stamping info

  I have a buddy that just bought a 69 hp 440 that will need to be rebuilt , on the machined pad to the right of the distributor theirs stamped an A also maltes cross and a diamond. I am sure they are factory stamped as i have seen those in the past but cant rember what the mean. Thanks for any help.  (Wingman).

I was of the understanding that the Maltese cross meant there were undersize bearings on the crank. Please don't quote me on this.

  Well i found all the info in GG white book , I forgot that was the source i had seen it in , getten old.
