On a 69, where does this bracket go?  Is this the one that goes on the alternator bolt up front?

I know nobody makes the inner fender bracket that holds the hoses on an a/c car, but can I use the non a/c bracket still?  It doesn't have to be 100% correct here but close would be nice.

Also, where do I find the bracket that holds the wiring and vacuum lines over the brake booster?  Not sure where or how it attaches so pics welcome!   :2thumbs:

I used the non a/c fender bracket just to move the heater hoses off to the side and it worked great. Later when I redid the a/c I used the same routing and attached the hoses to the heater hoses with aluminum straps. Not correct but it moved them out of the way and gave them a solid mounting solution rather than just hanging there.

Here is the wiring clip for above the booster. Just clips on the back of the booster mounting plate.

Here is a pic with the fender bracket.

Dino, the bracket in the first link is for A/C cars, but it goes by the A/C bracket near the upper rad hose & heater hose bungs not by the alternator. You can see it in this pic just in the bottom left corner.

The fenderwell bracket is close in '70, but was also rubber dipped.

I did the same thing as Clayton on my '69 with my aftermarket A/C, I used that fenderwell bracket and bought some extras of the stock aluminum straps to hold the hoses together.

Nice job Chris!   :2thumbs:

W&R I like the way yours looks.  I bought a member's a/c setup a while back and he has the same fender bracket which seems to work fine.  I'll do that first but I may have to do Chris' mod when I have a chance!  The a/c hoses will run a bit different for me as one goes from the compressor to the condenser so only one needs to be tied to the heater hoses.  Do the heater hose kits come with one or two of those metal straps?  I'm buying a kit from Bill Rolik but there's no picture on the site.  I know they come with the bypass hose and clamps though.

Thanks for that pic bill!  Never knew there was a bracket there, there wasn't one on my old compressor but since I'm now running one like W&R, I won't need one anyway.

Edit:  Rolik has that firewall bracket.  There's a long and a short version.  Seems to me I need the long bracket to fit that whole bundle in.  What was the short one for?

Dino, The long & short versions refer to the overall length of the bracket. I think the rubberized bent part is the same length. From what I was told I believe the shorter bracket was the more common one.

I got mine from MegaParts I think. I also bought extras of the flat aluminum straps. I used them on the A/C & heater hoses, and also on the driver's side where the wiring for the audio system was run to the battery.

Good idea on the straps, I'll get some extras.

Here are the two brackets, I guess either would work but I am leaning more towards the bigger one as I have to add a 6 awg cable to the existing bundle.

Does anyone have any detail shots of the bracket on the booster please?  And can you also say if it's the short or long one?  I can't decide....
