Question on 1968 Fender tag

Does a 1968 fender tag show air conditioning? If so, can you please tell me what the code is & where?

"IF" is the same as a 67, and if car has factory AC, it should show a "1" under the large "S" on tag

Yep, my '68 has factory AC and I understood that a "1" under the "S" meant AC.

Yes, and typically it will also be coded for Tinted Glass all the way around with X1. I can't recall if it was always coded with that - as in it was an integral part of the AC package or not but I believe it was.

Ah yes, forgot about the 26" rad requirement.  I wasn't sure about the tinted glass, figures with a 50/50 chance I got it wrong.   

Well, honestly, I think tinted windows are "automatically" added with A/C. However, I had a car that had A/C and was coded for "tinted windshield only" so I know that having all tint wasn't a guarantee with A/C. Otherwise I'd have guessed 100% got tinted windows. The bigger radiator was mandatory with A/C.

tinted windows not always gotten with AC...I know of many AC cars that don't have tinted glass with factory AC...

and I know of many cars with all tinted glass without factory AC...mine being one of them

Tint was "recommended" with A/C - not mandatory.

My long gone 68 had all tinted windows...but no A/C.  The 69 has both.
