Hi Guys,

My names Spud from the UK, new to this forum so just trying to work my way round it but i'm sure you guys will point me in the right direction

a quick intro, from being a kid and watching all the american tv shows i have always had my heart set on owning a charger and this year i was lucky enough to be able to purchase a 1969 Dodge Charger which is in need of a full restoration - will try get some pictures up soon

as you can imagine having a project like this - an american car and living in the UK - it's hard to come across parts as you can't just nip down to the local parts shop and ask for a headlight for a 1969 charger they just look at you as if your stupid, anyway the point i'm getting to is i might be asking you guys for a few opinions as to what certain parts are and where would be best to get them from, as ordering the wrong part can be costly as it's not cheap to ship all the way here,

At the moment i'm stocking up on parts so i can start the car next year when the weather is better and my first question which i am a bit stuck on is the wiper arms - i believe these to be Anco 41-03 however every company i have enquired about these say the driver and passenger side are different and they only seem to have one side in stock - can anyone tell me if these are different in anyway because if not i am going to just order 2 from RockAuto.

Thanks Guys
Spud

Welcome,  Unfortunately, I don't know the answer to your wiper arm question so I will wait for someone else to weigh in.

Hello and welcome to the forum.

I would think that Ebay will be your best source for parts that are not reproduced.  If I had to build a Charger on a budget these days I would complete the car with used second rate parts just to have a complete drivable car.  Then as money permits you replace or refinish the parts to make it more presentable.

The shipping is really going to hurt you on the large parts so I would buy as many parts as possible in one shipment.

Welcome Spud.  The wiper arms were supplied by Anco, I'll dig up some part numbers if no one else does first.

Welcome out! Good to have another aboard. Wipers? Do I hear any wipers? To be honest i've been running no wiper arms for years. Buff the glass when you buff the car and you'd be amazed at the shed.

Hi, and welcome..

Being a fellow European, I suggest you look in to www.shopusa.com as your shipper when buying parts from the States.. I bought a used radiator here on dc.com, and got a quote from ups to ship it for 470$..  :o
Shopusa did it for just over 100$.. I've used www.shopusa.com 7-8 times now, and every time with considerable savings on the shipping..
Feel free to ask if you have any questions..

From one Chargerholic to another... Welcome aboard! ;D  :2thumbs:

I thought the wiper arms were both the same but I checked the Chrysler parts book just to be sure. It lists 2 of #2822999 arms, so they are the same. I see what you mean about the listings. On Rockauto for a '69 Charger it says "front right", then for a '69 GTX (which uses the same arm) it says "front left" for the same Anco #4103. :shruggy:

One point I will mention just in case it is important to you. The aftermarket arm will probably have a pivot where the blade attaches which the factory arm did not have.

You voted for question mark number one whereas some poor rebel had the nerve to vote for number two.

I voted for number two too! Two is way better than one.

I guess I was misinformed, it seems they don't ship to the UK, I'm sure they once did though..
I googled, and came up with some other sites that do seem to work in the UK, but for obvious reasons, I have no experience with theese sites, so you'll have to do some digging around to find one you're comfortable with..

If they're anywhere near as cheap, and reliable as shopusa.com it definately worth your time..

Well guys after waiting for an answer from an ebay company regarding the wiper arms heres the response:

'Hello, after some digging for myself it seems like there is two different sizes because the one you are questioning about is actually for the right side but then the problem is that  I don't see the one for the left being offered. so it just as confusing.'

:icon_smile_question: :brickwall: :-\ :scratchchin: make of it what you will im still non no wiser

I notice the question mark is beating out the question mark by a pretty fair margin.

i would have liked to see what the question mark would have done against the exclamation mark ! , or the percent sign %. :scratchchin:
