I know its a newbie question but it is very important.  My charger i recently got is on flats. What are the lift points for the flooor jack and the jack stands?  Im trying to think about jacking the front tires up, then doing the back tires one by one.  Where should i place the jacks etc.  I know it is probably a thread i just could not find it.  Any methods that you have used especially on this model would be greatly appreciated.  THanks Its a 71 charger 500 383

Hi,

In the rear, a floor jack can be used under the rear axle housing and place the jack stands as far outboard as possible and it will be nice and stable. In the front you can lift it under the front lower control arm points. I've also supported my 71 in the front with wide wooden blocks under the point where the torsion bar mount joins the side frame rail. The bumper jack on these cars is really unstable if you're thinking of using it. It wasn't good for much more than an emergency tire change. You really want to consider finding a factory service manual for your car, so many of your questions will be answered there.
