A friend of mine sold his 1966 Hemi Charger a couple years ago. . . I believe he got around $48,000.00 for it.  It was a fresh, complete, nut and bolt restoration, the bottom was as shiny as the top.  It took him nearly six months to sell as he started out over $100.  Now, to be fair, it was a couple years ago, and the car market was much lower than it is today.  

That is a beautiful car, I am guessing $40,000.00 - $45,000.00.

Nice car.  Some little things but if you are thinking about investment more than keeper they are important because most likely the only way to ever hit big money with a fastback Charger is with someone really into them and they will likely notice these things.  It has the 67 front spears on the fenders, it has a lot of aftermarket guages which tell me the factory ones don't work (do the headlights) and someone has put woodgrain on the center console where it should have brushed aluminum.
Good stuff, looks clean, power windows, single pot master cylinder (I am talking about that ONLY from an investment/purist pov, if you want a driver that becomes a minus), documentation, and of course the Hemi.
To me, that car exists somewhere between driver and investment, which for myself would be an ideal compromise.  That said, in my own highly unqualified opinion, its a 40 to 50k car.  I think the very best one in the world is an 80k car right now but I could be waaaaaay off base.  They are beautiful and fun but they will never bring what the other Hemi cars do.  Not until someone makes a cult classic car chase film featuring one and I don't see it happening.  When other Hemi cars were trading routinely in 6 figures and just the mention of the word Hemi made buyers instinctively start making out blank checks, the 66-67 Hemi Chargers went 25 to 30 with great examples hitting 50 or so.  The strange thing is, that once the other ones hit the stratosphere and the bubble burst, people started looking at them as a cheap way to get a Hemi car and they rose in value in the last little while.  I bet if someone had tracked them and did the math they rose at a higher percentage than the others but they still are way undervalued and I think they'll stay that way for some time.  My prediction is that some day they will hit the 100k mark but when they do the other Hemi cars will all be bringing over 200.
Just an opinion though and I am NOT the expert.

Keep in mind, trade value is also significantly lower than retail... And just because a car is advertised at $60k, doesn't mean it's worth or sold at $60k.

Some ridiculous estimates here. I agree somewhere between $45k to $60k depending. You have to check everything over, carb #'s intake, distributor, rad etc. No one can really give a guess without a full-on inspection. It really looks like a neat car with great colours and those PW.

Real ones have never broken 50K on eBay, so take it that in consideration.  Sales there are always a good barometer of what you can expect to get.  The real desirable models, at least #2 or better can break 110K, unfortunately this is not one of those.  I still like it.

The last 1966 Hemi Charger, auto, needed a little work, #3, bid for 24K and sold a few months ago.

Agreed anyone saying $18,000 and more so $10,000 find me a couple like that for that price.....my god guys ask more than that for small block 73 up 3rd gens....$45-$60 sounds right

It puts my mind at ease to say the least. I personally really like 66-67 Chargers. But they have NEVER brought the Money that the 2nd gen cars have, or even close. Don't get me wrong..... my favorite car is the 69 Charger so... But the 66-67 Coronets are the same way.

I had a 66 Coronet 500 vert 383 auto car.. Loved it. Practically had to BEG the new buyer to buy it. That was 5 years ago. I wish I had it back..

It comes with a whole new set of gauges and complete dash (new) The woodgrain on the Console, Woodgrain didn't come out till 69 did it?

No, the fastbacks had a brushed aluminum plate on the consoles.

Like Ghoste said earlier, it's a nice look'n 66, but there are a number of after the fact pieces seen in those pic's.
Of course, there's no such thing as a numbers matching 66 anyway, so with that said, it's still a great car that can easily be restored to original spec's.

To some people it is, the numbers matching lol.  I hear old timers say it all the time how they got a numbers matching charger 66.
