Seriously, an SOS Pad did all that? Outstanding!!!!!!!! Need more details.......

thanks XS29L9Bxxxxxx
ya pretty much did a lot of scubbing they were in rough shape but the chrome was not pitted as much as they should have been but the car is in amazing shape for sitting in a bard for 36 years and coverd
but sos pads are old and dirty chromes best friend... i uesd turtle wax rubbing compond to polish out scrathes and inprfections and the black came from the house of kolors paint store...

hey XS29L9Bxxxxxx or anybody, can some one answer this why was the gas peddle glued to the carpet?

XS29L9Bxxxxxx

Which SOS pads are best for this job?

Re: the gas pedal, it is bonded to the carpet, I thought, as a pivot  :shruggy:

The brand SOS pads yellow box, but dollar general has same ones but there brand 10 to a box and cost only $1.00
but the SOS brand i use too... i just like the fact that the combo with steel wool and soap wont scratch but just do a deep clean and ready to polish when finished....

fck...if I saw this thread before I did mine and ruined them....nice job.  I painted mine and looks like crap....

Yep...been cleaning chrome with ultra fine steel wool for 25 years. Works awesome. Another trick is to repaint the inside of housings for brighter tail lights.

Love SOS pads....I will need to do my tail lights now... :drool5: Did you replace the lens? The chrome or silver looks good on those. What paint did you use on the outside of the chrome light bezel?

plasticman-32

Love SOS pads too
The lens only one was replaced all the others were just polished and were in amazing shape
And the paint came from house of kolors auto paint store black trim and metal paint it came out so smoothly and laid down evenly

I honestly think the tail lights and grill our the parts that should be done because that's what makes the 68 we'll The 68 lol
