I accidently stumpled upon this video and in the newest comment the guy leaves the gas pedal down and just taps the clutch to shift into next gear.

Would this ruin the clutch doing this?

Powershifting as they say brings some extra wear to the clutch disc. On the other hand you'll wear out the drive shaft, transmission, axles in the rear end.....

Let's say its not according to the manufacturers prescriptions.....you do get faster from A to B by doing this and sometimes thats what its all about isnt it.

NOS is nice, turbo's are neat, but when it comes to Mopars, there's no need to cheat...

You do realize that you own a muscle car do you?

Its kinda obligatory to abuse it a little from time to time...

You got enough motor, there's no need to abuse the 833
. Theres a guy whos got a 500 inch motor with 833 granny shifted and runs quicker than banzai driving. Doesnt knock the rear tires loose mid track. There's an art to it and very few have it. Myself included.

When done correctly imo, should sound like a flared shift in an automatic. He wouldn't shift like that on slicks. For whatever reason slicks change everything. Ask me how I know...

Something about missed gears and exploded trannies.

That's why I said money is needed for me lol..if i power shift and my manual tranny clunks clunks i be out of a charger 6 months....

The four gears in those drag cars were extensively modded to shift faster. Everything changes when you are driving a "crashbox".
I tried to drive a Liberty converted 833 on the street....um, yeah, I just love power shifting all the time. Even going for a simple drink at the local store.

Ain't that the truth, might as well add a spool in the back if you're going the slick shift route.
