Can someone tell me how the trim piece that runs between and above the taillights, just under the trunk lip is attached. Or where it is attached.  Not my car, another members I borrowed

On a 69 it's screwed on.
You will see that when you open the trunk.
I'd assume a 68 is the same.
Gotta love a '69

Yep same piece for 68 and 69, have owned and worked with piece on both cars , the side eye brows for either car model year slip in to each edge of trim, the centre piece is screwed in with I think 5 screws on top edge to boot opening

The screws used are the same for the wheel opening moldings.  :yesnod:
