Personally I think that would be overkill.  I like it as it is now.  :2thumbs:

thanks for replying Fred , was thinking about just to the outside , just like your bumble bee ,
and another option was a different colour , metallic reflective white, almost a throw back modern version of the factory drag car stripes , one version I was considering was one large white strip in the middle of those two, as it is looks too much like GM HSV vehicles stripes,
I'm an odd one out because I hate the blacked out rear on an RT, these cars have great detail to the taillights and panels , and it gets hidden by the black out ,

more, slowly getting it in, lining everything up

Very nice job. Great attention to detail.
BTW, where did you get those valve covers? Those are sweet!  :drool5:

I milled them up so I could adjust the valve train, solid roller cam shaft
removable tops , but if you look closely you can see the interference of blower motor to heater, prevented me from using them as intended, had to undo that side engine mount to get valve cover off ,  I was disappointed I can tell you, had to watch the type of covers I did purchase, had clearance issues with the victors to rocker gear, there so tall as well watch for photo's later installed fab cover's , can just sneak them off

fy469rtse

if you zoom in you can see that i milled out some polished cast alloy ones, tops a little clumsily made, hand made tops and I could have done the fasteners better and was disappointed when I realised I could not get them off, and the seal lip fouled the rocker tips , big rocker gear to these victors,

grill in and bumper and lower front valance, I thought I had done a good job on the grill restoration until I saw some of the threads and other guys work , some fantastic work going on this site

Wow, you went by me so fast my eyeballs crossed.  Why don't you take a year or two off so I can catch up. :icon_smile_wink:

Mitch, I am posting my thread finally, just trying to do it from the start, I actually brought my car home from the painter last December , my Xmas present to myself , so really when I look at it , not a lot done really, my thread will catch up to where I'm up to very soon and the I wil get into the habit of being more detailed, took all these photos only for reference, and to look back at to keep me motivated, I'm glad I did as I have something to post
But have to admit they look so much more impressive on here

fy469rtse

Does any one notice the fitment on valance on the right hand side in frontal shot, AMD fender to that side, great that we can buy repro panels , but not a great fit
bottom of the fender not turned in enough to match original compared to original fender, got it to fit right but not with out nicking the paint, oh well its going back to shop for touch up's so whats one more area, finally got any my internal parts for transmission , billet servo's , metal jacketed front drum, Kevlar bands , 4 and 6 gear planetary's, nitrated surface to input and output shafts, deep pan and filter extension, combination of 10 and 11 convertor for street duty, welded internals, anti ballooning plate, 3500 stall, stage 2 trans  go shift kit, best finish to case, a friend talked me into getting it hydro blasted, fantastic finish, it looks better than new,
also has the effect of I think shot peening, case is smoother and has a polished effect, resist's dirt absorbsion,

The car is looking real nice. Love the valve covers. Great work!   :2thumbs:
