Will post photos shortly , work giving me the absolute #%£€ and more ,
Just got my new proportioning valve and master from summit, isn't it good when you get new parts and you can see the quality, packing etc, just like new parts should be.
Bench bleed the master in minutes, not a struggle like the first master cylinder, noticeable difference in the supposedly same prop valve, I think I got taken from who ever I bought this from , maybe another reason to only buy parts from reputable suppliers, just looking forward to finally finishing brakes and putting this thing on its wheels on floor,

fy469rtse

notice the differance in prop valves, the slightly smaller one is junk

fy469rtse

never had a master cylinder bench bleed up so quickly,
will never buy the remanufactured junk again,

fy469rtse

all the while with brakes giving trouble , tried to just do other things,
installed my seat belts, got the drop links in on the front retractables
fitted rear retractables, safety first, as the only passengers ever likely to get this car , my children and my daughters friends or family

fy469rtse

more, seat belts

fy469rtse

been working on my front seats ,
but i think in the end these will be replaced by late model seats for comfort and suport like bills car and others

fy469rtse

getting close to finishing up engine bay,
doing things like heater hose's, aircon lines are next, fitted radiator ,condensor and drier to go in next,
any reason the dryer was installed up on the inner skirt, can i fit It up in front of radiator suport without any issues to aircon operation

Sorry guy's will post photos soon,
It's kept me busy, issue's
First, water heater tap on firewall, new old stock, leaked like there were no seals in it,
Half the dash to get it out, pull tap apart, wait for seal kit pull it apart restore , fit it back in  reassemble dash ,
Trans , kick down line pressure, posted another thread with johns help , got this sorted out just tonight,
No hoist at my place , on ramps and stands, it's all back together , will test it out tomorrow night if I get home from work early enough ,
100% new parts and condition, WTF drivers side axle seal leaking, is this because diff sat assembled, and seal sat dry
Until car was assembled
, getting tired of redoing things,
Big thing to do is rear main, see bobs thread challenger 340,
This was done properly knowing the faults in this area, viton seal , Indy billit rear main cap , off set corrected,
Not looking forward to pulling engine and tear down to investigate
Will let you know on the fix and what it required,
I did this correctly, like a lot of things
Fuel senders and getting the gauge to read right was a right pain in the arse, many attempts, finally got that sorted
This car has fought me all the way on every detail,
Nothing has been straight forward

Geoff, Maybe time to take a day off and let things percolate through your head and also to do some stress relief.   Sounds like you are making progress.  Summer down where you are so maybe get out and enjoy the outdoors a bit.  I am starting to bolt things onto my car for the rear suspension and the first thing I did was wrong, didn't get the shackle bushing all the way in so wrestled it back out and put it in again correctly (not enough soap lubricant the first time.)  You're not alone.

dodgepaul1969

Very impressive work there. I got my car, 68 Charger kind of a nostalgia super stock car, home in October and have spent a few months doing lil stuff, chasing fasteners and allot of test fitting things. Fighting lil stuff, new thicker "OEM" gaskets being the latest problem. Nothing but lil headaches around every corner. My car is part silver also. Yours looks great. Looking forward to watching your progress.  I'll get a thread for mine up soon
1970 4-spd Superbird, '69 Charger 500 Daytona clone,2015 Hellcat 6-spd B-5 Blue,1968 572 Hemi Charger,70 GTX 535 6-pac 4 spd,69 GTX 440 4-spd Super Trac Pac Car,70 Coronet 500 "bee clone",70 383 4-spd Road Runner, 1973 383 Barracuda, and a couple Cummins and old school power wagons. All Mopar land over this a way

fy469rtse

Finally got it back on its own wheels tonight,
Transmission problems , couldn't get any line pressure , with help and advice from John kunkel and another good friend of mine locally, was able to sort it out,  lock nut on stop on throttle body , not tight enough and stop backed out , line pressure small pistons came out and cocked,
Any way first time had anything more than quarter throttle, I was also taking it easy with it,
Didn't really notice at first,
Now
Shift changes firm and hard , happy with the way it pulls , engine revs freely and it's powerful, getting on it car steps side ways at gear changes, that's half throttle, it's an animal
Pity I will have to pull this and take this engine apart shortly to fix investigate rear main seal leak,
