Just a couple of weeks ago my 14 year old daughter was offered the chance to travel through the "People to People Student Ambassador Program" to Europe. We went to the info seminar just this past weekend & listened to what is offered & it seems pretty good except for the expense. The trip is a 20 day European excursion that visits England, France, Germany, Belgium, The Netherlands, Austria, and Switzerland that will run about $7000 or so for everything, including meals & accommodations.

She will be able to earn credits towards her H.S. diploma, or even something for college. The program is also going to improve her chances of being accepted to a college she applies to. I know I can cover some of the cost for this trip, but there is no way I can pay for all of it. There are fundraising ideas through the program & they also offer a select number of scholarships ranging from $500 to the full price of $7000. My daughter needs to write an essay when she applies but it's still the luck of the draw.

My question is, has anyone here had their kids participate in this program or have any of you done it?

It looks good & I know it's legit but I'd like to get a better grasp on it before we commit.
