Somehow I wound up with a bunch of 68 Chargers.  I sold off some parts and I couldn't move this one for the life of me.  So, I just gave up and decided to get some motivation and just start doing 'something.'

I put the fenders on it (well, just hung them up).

Other side view..

I lucked into someone who was nice enough to get me another B body for parts.  He said 'most' of the parts would interchange!  I don't even know what this donor car is called but I got the front end out.

The front end was semi clean so I sanded it a bit..

Painted it (I know how to paint a bit...)

BEST, BUILD, EVER, Will follow this one to the "T"   :drool5:

Thanks man :)  It's fun painting outside.  It's like a down draft booth, but you never know what you're gonna get on the 'down drafts!'

I keep telling myself, 'it's not for looks, it's for protection!'

Good for you!!   Just take it one step at a time.  I am in the same boat...  I have no idea what I am doing but I do know I will get it done...  five year plan.. .Year 3 is here...  A little progress every day is what it takes...  take your time so as not to get burned out...  when I started mine I spent every waking minute for a month tearing it down...  That was a bit much in hindsight...  GOD Bless!  Have FUN!!

Old Tired Rebel

Sweet another build from little project. Congrats I will be following along also.

Greetings from Belgium, the beer country

NOS is nice, turbo's are neat, but when it comes to Mopars, there's no need to cheat...

I've seen that you've been trying to sell this shell in the past.  My impression is that if you could just get this to be a roller with just the basics in place (looks like you're very close now) that this would be much easier to sell.  At least a roller can be trailered relatively easily compared to a shell with no suspension, your sales potential goes up by 100x.

69finder

A shell sitting on the ground is NOT appealing!  I'm glad no one bought it actually as I have learned alot.  I might still try to sell it, especially if I get stuck somewhere (ie in the actual getting it running stage, but I hope not!!).  I am FULL of worry but I'm smiling now :)

1) All of my tools are in metric.  NOTHING fits exactly.
2) I can 'eye size' Standard bolts now :)
3) I know why they are called 'muscle' cars.  You will use ALOT of muscle!
4) My friend Eric was of great help to me.  I've never needed 2 people to do anything, but on this car, you NEED 2 people!

I got the front end in also.. Can anyone tell me what 'K member' I have?  I have 383 Torsion bars.

And...

HALF way there?!! :)  (er, half way to having some wheels maybe..)

:shruggy: They just showed up? You don't remember how they got there? Please, explain.

69finder

I was looking for another car marquee that I am interested and in the course of 'hunting' them, I keep coming across these 68 Chargers (4 of them??, and a 69 as well).  And most of those times the seller has said, 'take it all or nothing!'.

WOOHOO!!! youre going much faster than i was

Well, 'fast' is relative, I let this thing sit for a few months.   Now the last few days (scared of the snow!), I've been zooming along on it.  I sanded/scuffed the inside and painted it!!

Doing something you know how to do... is one thing.
Doing something never done by yourself but achieving it none the less, well that says alot.
