Its the weekend, have to do something today, anything will do, as long as its out of the house.  Storage garage has gotten the "cluttered" look lately, and decided to reorganize the shelves in the garage, throwing some crap away that I don't see much need to keep, and trying to make room for a spot to hang the electric tools.  The shelves are suspended  from the rafters starting at 5 feet, and another at 7.5 feet, very secure and sturdy, will hold anything I want to haul up that high.  Working on the lower shelf, I clear out several bins on the shelf behind the car, it went well enough for the first couple hours, cleared about half of bottom shelf out, I decide to move the antiquated home stereo gear that still works well enough to not throw away, but had moved the speakers to the top shelf (right side) anyway, pick up the 30 band equalizer and fish out the cord and set it aside, next was a 10 disc CD changer I hadn't used in 10 years, its heavier and bulkier, as I pick it up, it twists and falls out of my hand landing on the shelf...no problems.. Pick it up again, firmer this time, as I move it the cord is obstructed by loose shelf items, pull it gently and it starts to gather in my hand, it gets stuck on something, I decide to shift position and move my foot a couple inches, just enough to nudge a piece of plywood leaning up against the closet opening, the 4' x 3' 3/4 plywood sheet remnant decides at that moment to fall over, just 4 inches away my shinbone starts to cringe in fear, smacks me dead center between the knee and ankle, hits bone, tears skin, PAIN...  OUCH that hurt.... place the board back in place, then started moving the cord again, and the damn board attacks again  ...  sonofa...! :brickwall:  nails me a second tim, same spot, :flame: this time I can feel blood flow as I let out a long stream of language better not to happen in the presence of women and children, as the red haze starts to clear from my eyes, the cord from the CD player pops free from whatever held it, and out of the corner of my eye I see a foot long crowbar fall off the shelf, I can't do anything, a CD component in one hand, and the loose end of the cord in the other, I watch in horror as it bounces off the rear fender of the charger, evidently deciding to join the plywoods attack aimed for my sandal covered feet.  I dodge to save the toes, old guys can move fast sometimes.  I kick the damn plywood again, it bites my shinbone a 3rd time.  Everything goes white  :o, can't even cuss this time, just breathe,  in ...out... vision clears, you remember hearing a metallic noise when the crowbar jumped in my direction, it had put a ding in the top rear fender, directly under the stripe, I can see the depression :RantExplode:, it looks like I will have something else to work on in the future, will have to take the stripe off  to fill it, or will cost as much to have removed via PDR.

I egress from the shelves in defeat, stepping completely out of the garage, and notice I did make some progress in the right direction as far as clearing shelves, but now had a bleeding leg, a new dent in the charger however small, and now a bunch of shelf junk moved to the trunklid of the charger...damn car is like having a coffee table, can't help setting minor stuff on flat surfaces.  I surrender for the day, time to go eat, dress the wounds and hope It doesn't leave a scar.  Who needs tattoos when the body makes its own decorations.

Its always more fun to laugh at others misfortune,if I'd been watching it happen to someone else I'd probably have laughed.  No permanent injuries, everything will get healed over time, including the charger.  It gets a new set of 17 x8 magnum 500 wheels for the front on Monday.  Missed delivery on Friday.

I hope tomorrow is better. I think everyone has this happen every once in a while.

Sunday football will likely suck, The colts are coming to town to kick our Jaguars around our own stadium, don't expect any miracles, sucks to start a season 0-4.  Tomorrow I have to move the spare wheels/tires off the top shelf and shuffle them over to the utility shed where the lawnmowers live.  Figure the old 14' magnums and the set of 15 inch ET Slots are better to be stored there for a few years, at least until I can get the tires unmounted and disposed of.  I just hope the wheel and tire up there doesn't fall out of my grip and bounce off the hood of my freshly repainted dodge stealth , have to move an old pc monitor, 440AC compressors, tail light lenses and wheels and tires and I still have to get the stuff off the trunklid.  Guess i'll have to play the garage stereo to gain some satisfaction for moving it.  Probably listen to the jags, watch tv and make plans on how to hurt myself next.

Heavy things like crow bars just shouldn't be hanging up any where near vintage sheetmetal.  It's like a magnet for those types of things.  Stick your crow bars in a piece of pipe or in a rack in the corner with your cheater pipes.   They're out of the way and handy when you need them.  Lower to the ground, the better.

You make a very good point.  :yesnod:  Heavy things should always be at ground level.

Tomorrow is promised to no one.......drive your Charger today.

Half the stuff on the shelves is heavier than a crowbar, and how the crowbar got in that particular location is a mystery to me, I usually keep crowbars hanging on the front sidewall near the toolbox, or inside one of the three toolboxes back there.  its been a long time since I cut the rear quarter panel out and welded a new panel in and that's the only thing I can think of why I would have a crowbar back there.  Never the less, clearing off the shelves will enable me to find other falling tool risks  that can damage the charger.  Today i'll be working a good distance away (other side of garage) but I've seen stuff take unbelievable bounces before.

It dinged the one spot where the metal was weak from rust that got ground out, about a half inch to the right of the trunklid, not sure if PDR will help in that spot since it has a small amount of bondo there to level the surface for paint.  I know from past attempts that trying to hammer it out myself is a mistake and usually makes it worse, so i'll probably have to pay someone to fix it.  There is a small dent on the left rear bumper area (behind the bumper in the tail light panel) it causes the gap where the valence meets the corner to be a little wider than it should be.  I was going to just weld the valence panel to the fender under the car, but the gap bothers me, i'll now make the attempt to pull out the dent first using the stud puller.  but really need to make room back there first or roll the car forward a foot or two.

That crowbar bit sounds like something you'd see in a Three Stooges episode.

That crowbar would get tossed as far as I could trow it..........I know, I know.....and possibly hit something else that also costs money to fix later.... :RantExplode:

NOS is nice, turbo's are neat, but when it comes to Mopars, there's no need to cheat...

Glad your OK!  :2thumbs: (More or less at least!)
Long ago I made a rule for myself: If you haven't needed/used it for over a year (Tools excluded.) get rid of it. (No and, or, if's or but's about it.) Over the years it's changed to now: Can I just get rid of it ASAP. As my kids grew and moved out I gradually insisted they they remove all their stuff also.
I start culling the herd of stuff at the start of Fall with a target of December done for new years start. It's amazing how crap piles up, records/paperwork grow and useless filters into good. My kids now call it "The Purge" and I'm in that now. (So I relate to your mission!) It gets easier every year to finish and also easier to just throw crap away without concern that it has some value, "someone could use this 10 year old set of computer speakers or old (Now dirty.) space heater" kind of thinking.

The stuff I have collected has piled up like with many of us.  If there is room to put something it won't last long.

One of my sisters passed away a couple of years ago and the rest of us had to deal with what she had accumulated.
It was a valuable experience in that I learned what a chore it is for those that have to clean up later.

My mission now is to get rid of the crap (good stuff) while I am better able to do it than those that would have to come and do it when I am gone.
Let's do it for the kids. :2thumbs:

BTW garage sales or craigs list may be fine for some things and some people but for me when I am in the mood to move something out I have to work fast. Goodwill and recycle work for me

Oh gawd damn! I hurt for you brother Warlock as ILMAO (because I have season tickets to bad juju) but your narrative is funnier than hell! You should be writing for SNL.

On to reality.....bad juju comes when it wants. The aborigines have a word for it that escapes me just now........help me out Freddo/Polywide block. There is no escape and we don't see it for what it is until it's too late. Observes would say that after the second shin attack you should have retreated to the beer bunker.

I repeat, there is no escape when it's you turn to dance with the Lady bad juju.

Quotecrowbar would get tossed as far as I could trow it..........I know, I know
This thought did occur to me, had it in hand, and contemplating whirling around and let it fly, but the amount of energy built up from pain and anger would have sent it over the fence into the front yard, where kids play...and I didn't want to endanger the kids next door, lawsuits of course could cost me the cars out back.  so swallowed the anger, and buried the crowbar in the bottom of the tool cabinet, where i'll never find It next time I need one.

I'm usually pretty good at throwing old stuff out, except car stuff which I've found gets exponentially more expensive to replace, if you lose that one part that no one makes anymore.  (like the rod between the hood latch and handle in grille) the problem is that the more places you have to store stuff, the harder it is to keep stuff centrally located.  With two cars in the storage garage there is only room to walk around each one...or squeeze by on one side.  The charger sits a little close to the rear shelves.  Wood on the other hand tends to stick around as I'll always find a use for it.  Think i'll screw the dang wood plank to the closet to keep it from attacking people that get too close.  The closet is really just a 5 foot tall 3 sided enclosure that I crammed under the bottom shelf in one corner, it lets me store shovels and rakes/brooms etc in one location out of the way and not in the wet weather.  I left the door off the front because opening it was always and issue with hitting the car or other tools on the floor (had a floor standing AC unit there for about 10 years but replaced that with a window unit this spring.)
