Is there a paint that matches the pearl white interior, I need to paint my armrests?

Lord Warlock

Pretty sure you'd want to dye the armrests, not paint it.  Try SEM color Coat spray dye, if you look at their selection of colors there is bound to be one that is a close match.

Make sure you clean your interior as best as you can to get the true color out.  If you can snip a small swatch off from a hidden spot, you can send it to SEM and they can mix the paint for you.

Went to the NAPA paint store today, they sell sem products but not the dye Warlock was talking about. Went to another paint store and they sold flexible paint? Wound up taking my ashtray in so they could match it up. Dash is dark green and I need to paint the kick panels and the pillars. So am I looking for a dye or the flexible paint. Is one better than the other. I still have to do something with the armrests.

I cleared the whole oreillys warehouse out of SEM light buckskin when I did my general lee.  I have used other colors.  sprays nice and even.  dries fast and very durable.  closest white is "super white", but no pearl.  go to herb's if you want it correct.  take a big wad of cash with you. $20-30 per can.

Kick panels and A pillars are pretty rigid so plain primer and top coat will work just fine.  One thing I would definitely do before primer, after cleaning and degreasing the parts copiously, is spraying on two thin coats of adhesion promoter.

clean everything with laquer thinner first.  get it kind of "tacky"

Lord Warlock

according to SEM they call it paint instead of dye, SEM color coat is what you're looking for, I've used it to re-do the dash and front armrests, upper door panels and the steering column and horn pad,  it comes out looking new if you take your time with it.  It seems to be very durable, but then again I haven't used it on high use areas such as the seats.  The kick panels on mine appear to be chipping or have  rough surface on a couple spots so simply painting over it won't do, i'll have to figure out a better solution or get a replacement and then respray with the SEM color coat afterwards.

I have a friend whose had his own business or 20 years restoring interiors on cars and he's who pointed me at SEM a long time ago.

Thanks guys for clearing that up for me. I've always been nervous about using spray cans, seems like it would scratch off to me.  lw
