Here are some pictures from a trip I took to a junkyard in Upstate N.Y. last weekend.  http://s1146.photobucket.com/user/MoparsandSteam/library/Rusting%20Muscle

Wow tons of salvageable parts there.....any of the stuff for sale or is this an "Ill get to them someday" type of yard?

I've never seen a 69 charger in a junkyard still with a decent grill in it...also is that a 1957 fury?? Bumper wings?
All the yards in ohio I find are more picked over it seems.
Do your part & save some parts!

Looks like an AMX mixed up in there.  If it's in a junk yard then parts are for sale.  Need more details!!!

XS29L

The cars and parts are all for sale.  The property was a towing business since the early '60s ,the owner died about a month ago. The cars are being sold off at scrap value, 16cents a pound !!  All of the good stuff has been spoken for and most of the cars look like they would brake in half if you moved them. Unfortunately we all got into the about 20-25 years to late to save these cars. The owner didn't let very many people into the yard over the years. Once the leaves come down this fall I'm going back over to search around some more.
MOPAR OR NO CAR !!

If stuff is getting scrapped, hopefully it's just the stripped shells because alot of those cars still have plenty to give in terms of parts.
If that's a 57 fury it should be saved, no question.
Just in the small amount of pics you took I can see tons of good parts...
It will truly be a loss once these places are gone forever.

That's less than $600 for an entire car. There's a hell of a lot more than that in parts in most of those cars.

I saw at least one front wheel well trim on the 69 Charger.  How much do those go for??

I don't get people man.  If you're not going to do anything with your junk let someone have it who will!   :RantExplode:

If that green 68 with the crushed roof has a decent center section for the grille, I'd take it...   :-\

As much as it pains me to see the Mopars in there, that old Hudson is the saddest of the bunch.

Am I seeing this right? The tree on the left is growing ON the bumper?

tsmithae

It grew through the bumper, if you look closely you can see the trunk of it underneath the car and it grew around/through what was in its way to the sun.

I used to love those old Hudsons.  :2thumbs: I believe that was the oldest car I ever saw that had factory AC in it.

That really is a shame to see parts going to the scrap pile, but my days of climbing around in a junkyard are over. I am tired of mud, tired of wasps & hornets, tired of rusted bolts, tired of poison ivy & just tired.

GOTWING

the red 70 challenger reminds me of the one in the begining of "gone in 60 seconds" the original movie when they bought it from the insurance company.

Notice the dukes of hazzard push bar on the green 69 charger?

Shame for the orange 76ish T/A.

that pink Caddy is kinda cool too.

cool pics, thanks  :yesnod:

70 sublime

We have a yard like that around here
Never thought to take any pictures
Trees up through the cars
You can not tell it is even there unless you know
All the muscle cars have been picked out though (there are a few Gremlins left if that counts :) )

Old guy that owned it used to even keep the grass cut just for something to do

A couple of years ago he was driving along and pulled over to side of the 4 lane highway had a heart attack and died in his car

Now the gate is closed and no one knows what is going to happen to it
