Is Creme making a comeback or what?

It seems i'm seeing Y2 or Y3 colored chargers or daytonas on the site more in the last year than I've seen in the last 20,  what's going on?  Is it the fact that they are rare and people like having a color almost no one ordered or bought in 69?   or just a coincidence? After I got mine in the summer of 78,  I didn't see another that color for 20 years when I saw a Daytona at the Turkey Rod Run that was y3.  I had never seen one with a tan top like mine and then in the last few days saw a 383 powered one here built on the same day as mine with the same options except that it wasn't an RT SE like mine is.

I've always held on to mine for one reason, and that was because I had never seen another like it, and therefore it had to be rare enough to keep and eventually restore one day.   And while that has proven to be accurate, it seems i'm not the only one with one like I've thought for 30 years.  While i'm glad to finally see a couple similarly equipped cars, it may not be the one of a kind I had hoped it was, in any case, it may be one of only a few, and surprisingly a few have managed to survive the long years since rolling off the line.

I've been thinking that , for me it seems to be more Y2 chargers turning up ,  I remember when I started seriously  looking for mine  in 1988 , took till  end of febuary 89  locate , a charger that ticked all the boxes  , ( had to be an original Y2 black top & interior  Charger R/T.) ( not that I thought it was rare in yellow , they must of made thousands  :shruggy: ,  but for me it was the only color combo to have  :drool5: :drool5: :drool5: ) ,  you would always be seeing  , green & bronze chargers  , no offence guys    ..
in hemmings  etc  there were hundreds of more mopars & pages of parts  then they are now , but original yellow  were few & far between ,  the internet has got lots to do with it  now , covers the whole world  reaches people & places you could never dream of  24 plus years ago , cause back then there was nothing like it , if it wernt hemmings , ads in paper  etc , you just had to rely on word of mouth & or & going to all the shows  etc  looking for cars forsale  :yesnod: ,  its just the charger owners world wide  have got a place to ad pictures & talk about their cars  , & every one can see , whos looking   for & intrested this stuff  .  also have noticed   number of chargers that have been forsale   that are Y2 & Y3 originaly  ,  have been painted another color  ,  & by the looks of the cars it was done long long time ago ,

i actually like it too, not that i would paint my car one of those colours though, it looks great on a driver car... not so great on a rat rod style beater

I have wanted to do Y3 or Q5 and keep changing my mind, right now it is Y3.

Not my charger, but when I was trying to decide weather to keep my challenger original cream color, I looked at lots of pics. It was a tough decision.
Not that cream looked bad, but just not my cup of tea.
Here is a pic of it, done in 2 tone paint scheme back in day, way back.
I am restoring it now and it is headed to Hemi Orange, I just could not do all cream though.
I could do the 2 tone with cream but not all cream, just too tame for me.

The cool thing about Cream is, you dont see them very often, so from that standpoint I think it looks good because you dont see them. Its different.
