Doesn't seem bad overall.  More than I would spend on one I think but thats me personally.  I'd definitely drive the hell out of it.  :drive:

ITSA426

I think mine uses different pop rivets to hold the VIN tag in place.  I've never seen a VIN plate just stuck on and would be nervous about buying one that way.  I'd like to see if the body numbers are correct.  In any case for that kind of money you should have another person look it over; someone who knows what they're looking for.

TUFCAT

The VIN tag rivets are obviously wrong.  Nicer 66-67 Hemi Chargers are out there for the same money or less...

Here's a much better example:

Homerr

On this VIN plate one can see the original rosette style rivet outline on the left side.

A383Wing

Decent car, I have seen it many times...had a chance to buy it back in the mid-80's....it's still up here next to me...still wears OE paint....he asked me a while back what I thought price would be, I told him $45k-ish

I can't explain the VIN rivets though

Bryan

A383Wing

yea, I saw the difference, I even went out and looked at both of my 66's..they have the "star" type rivets...

like I said, I can't explain the Hemi cars rivets on the car up in my area...but the car is real

Bryan

Wasn't that thing at the Charger meet in like 07?

BTW, it's not a Charger, it's a Charge.

myk

I'm not one for factory-this and factory-that type cars but I have to admit that is one beautiful survivor...

A383Wing

I do like the yellow one, guess it depends on what your definition of "survivor" is...it's been repainted, it's a late 66 car, has 67 radio knobs, 67 flasher switch, 67 bumper guards in the 67 location.

Now I have to wonder why the marine style engine lift hook is still attached to the front of the cylinder head?

Bryan is right about the star rivets. Its a shame somebody might have replaced them on an otherwise original car. I suppose the originals could've been drilled out and replaced if the car was repainted and someone removed the tag?

Then again who knows?  The ad says MOSTLY ORIGINAL PAINT. NO KNOWN RUST SOLID BODY.

If I was selling this car the "440 Four Barrell" fender emblems would be replaced with correct 426 Hemi badges.

A383Wing

Kitty...what car above has "440 Four Barrell" emblems?

I'm very sorry Wing.  My monitor is either extra fuzzy or my eyeglass perscription has gone bad....! I thought I saw "440" in this picture :sorry: .  My bad  .

Cats can only see colors as dark to mid shades of gray. We also appear to see less saturation in colors as humans, and we can't see colors as intensely or vibrantly as you do. I'll be more careful next time.....Meow :scope:, at least I saw those wrong Vin rivets.... Meow. End.  :icon_smile_wink:
