I got this 65 Valiant with 9" drum brakes all the way around that I'm trying to redo while this joker is suppossedly getting my Charger finished. Anyway I'm working on the front drum brakes. They are 9" drum. I need new wheel cylinders. All the ones that all aftermarket brake manufacturers show have 1" bores which is the size of the master cylinder bore. However, when I go to all these aftermarket websites and punch in the oem number of 2072616 it comes up with a different number showing a 7/8" bore, which luckily is 3/4 less in price. But am I getting the correct one? I got some Dorman brake hoses for this thing tonight at Summit which they showed two different numbers for the 9" and 10" front brakes. So I got the one they had, came home went to the Dorman website crossed the OEM Plymouth number and it crossed to the ones I bought. Eventhough Plymouth parts catalog only showed 1 brake hose for all Valiants. I'm wondering because the cross reference section on each site doesn't recognize the -7 in the wheel cylinder oem number 2072616-7 is it bringing up a different wheel cylinder for different car? Does anyone know if the -7 in the oem number has a significant meaning? Because I see other wheel cylinder oem numbers for other models using the same number without the -7. Any ideas? Should I buy the cylinders that cross to 2072616 or the ones specified in their catalog under application?

Yep, the factory saves ink by expressing left side parts by their last digit. 2072616 is for the right side, -7 is for the left.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.
