Looks great!!  Love the color.  Is that the QQ1?   I restoring a 68 Rt.myself.  what did you use to strip the rust off your parts?   I need to start doing mine.

I have a Harbor Freight sandblaster to remove rust. They are cheap and work well, but you need a lot of air. I had to upgrade to a 240V compressor. Even the most expensive 110V units wouldn't keep up. A local sandblaster did the entire car, though.

Great thanks... I love that blue!   If mine wasnt originally PP1 red, i would do that medium blue metallic.

Wow!  Looks awesome.  I have a 68 that I've been slowly working on.  I've decided to reproduce the 68 R/T I had in high school.  It was blue; which I think was probably the QQ1; but there are other blues so I'm not quite sure.  If you do get around to getting the code it'd be great if you could post it here.

In the mean time, please keep the pics coming.

4spd or auto?  Vinyl top?

QQ1 sounds very familiar. I'll ask the shop.

I'm keeping the auto on the column and black vinyl top. I'm also keeping the bench seat (jump seat that folds into an arm rest), but I'm using leather instead of vinyl. The fender code says the tail stripes were deleted, but I'm putting them on anyway. The motor is getting stroked and a head upgrade, but I'm keeping the exhaust manifolds for a stock look. I'm also probably putting fuel injection on it. MSD'S atomic kit tucks neatly under the air filter for a stock look.

It is the Bright Blue (QQ1), which became Bright Blue (B5) in 1969.

Cut and buff is all finished on the body. Still working on the doors and hood. Finally starting on some of the undercarriage and interior pieces.

The trunk came out pretty nice, too. You'd never know it's been replaced. The welds were put back just like the originals were.

The top is on and the glass is in. Also, the tail lights are in.

The motor finally came back, too. Stroked to 496 all forged. Edelbrock heads and intake. Stock exhaust manifolds for an original look. I wanted fuel injection and the throttle body should hide under the air cleaner nicely.

Thanks. I'm not too sure about the intake, though. I may change it.

Great built.......I'm enjoying following it from this side of the pond! I like the intake manifold colour matched...so IMO leave as is!
