Howdy all, dropped the 318 into the charger a couple weekends ago, after doing some prep work... Changed the engine from truck to car with different oil pan and pickup, new motor mounts and brackets, thourough degreasing, detailing, prepping and painting of the enginge and some of the bolt on parts, cleaned up the engine bay... not perfect yet as with most works in progress. When i sat the motor in and got it attatched to the k frame noticed the motor was leaning backwards towards the firewall, is this normal?  Currently dont have a trans to put in but im hoping that having a trans will fix the backwards lean issue?  so, this brings me to the trans questions. Are the 904la transmissions the same as other 904 transmissions? Will a slant six trans work on the 318 set up? Is a tf6 the same as a 904... Thanks for the help everybody!     If anyones interested in a 68 powerwagon oilpan, and motor mounts, let me know.

Your motor will lean to the back a little bit if only bolted to the motor mounts and with no trans.  Once your trans is bolted in, it will be level as the factory intended it to be.

Once in the car engines do sit down slightly at an angle toward firewall. if you look at any aftermarket aluminum intake, you will see the back of the carburetor sits higher than the front so the carburetor will be level as the engine isn't..

Are you fully aware of all the possible meanings of the word fact or the word opinion?  When given the vast array of context in which they may be used you might reconsider using them with such abandon.  After all communicating is at hand and to be found to be in error with the use of a word could subject you to being found to be incorrect. ----And ooohh the misery that brings---

That would be a not possible in STOCK form....however, it is my opinion that anything CAN be modded to work.
I would need to check with the talking walnut who gets is orders from the cypress tree to confirm as fact.  :2thumbs:
