Thought there might be interest.  My dad found these pictures last week.  The plastic on the door is still there.

Science is just observation and hypothesis.  Policy stands in the way.........

Or maybe it protects us.

I suppose it depends on the specific case.....

Not all. Only about 67% of them were.

Those blackwall bias-ply tires look cool as the day is long; perfect amount of sidewall bulge, nice-looking transition into the tread area with none of that side lug crap that most tires have today that makes them all look like offroad tires, and I love the way bias-ply tires sit right up, looking almost perfectly round, unlike the slightly slack appearance that radials always have when under the weight of the car.

I thought the same thing. My earliest memories are from the late '70s, and I never saw a car seat back then. I certainly never rode in one, and neither did any of my siblings, nor anyone else I knew. We didn't even wear seatbelts back then. I thought of seatbelts as a novelty; the ones in the back seat of the family car where us kids sat had all disappeared between the seats long ago anyway.

You are 100% correct. I was thinking the same thing.
