Got mine in '06.

Had to wait till last year to have a decent shop to get really going.
So to keep it short, since '06 all that has happened so far is the car being from a rolling shell onto a rotisserie and she's ready to media blast now.

I know; I know but I'm getting more and more up to speed as we speak.
But still I dont see it on the road again in the next 3 or 4 years...

I've had each one an average of roughly 20 years.

Had my charger for 35 years, it sat for 27 years in storage in my garage without having anything done other than tearing off the top.  I've been working on it gradually the last 7 years or so.

Gee,I was hoping this topic never came up.........   seems the closer I get to retrieving her, I get bumped back a coupla steps, I've owned it now 14 yrs. been in storage the last 12.... my bro is knocking the dust off her now... still 1400 miles away, but soon...very,very, soon

How do we define "doing nothing" with the car?  I've owned mine since '94 and have driven it since I bought it, but I never took care of the car and basically let it fall apart over the years.  I didn't start to make amends to the car until last year; now I've sworn to maintain and continue improving it.  Neglecting the Charger is one of the worst things I've ever done with my life...

Can anyone beat my record?  I have had mine for 38 years.  Within this last month I got it to roll under it's own power since 1981.  It's been a long time sitting.

My red Charger I am always doing something to it & driving it. My Challenger I am always working on when money & time allow for it. Hope to get it done someday. Charger #2. I bought 3 years ago & haven't touched it since I covered it with the car cover.

Gee this thread kinda makes me happy (a bit).

I thought I was lazy and going slow but it seems that alot of other guys also have serious lack of free time......

I need to find a way to make twice as much money in one day so I can stop working after 1/2 a day and spent more time in the shop

 got my charger april 89 ( was a two owner car & was being daily driven with regular trips to new mexico & oklohama city  , from kerrville TX ) before i bought  it.
late 92   decided not to drive it any more , cause of the old wiring & stuff already ! , had to do a  mini  rewire with  the dash harness & back up lamp harness   , plus already had less than good fix on a engine harness meltdown ,    put it into storage 93 -99ish ( then 3 year nut & bolt resto ) , while saving money to do the resto & locating the only 3 missing parts i needed , the rest would be repop stuff , then life got in the way  & also  got involved with buying & repairing accident / salvage cars in my free time , as if i never had enough doing it as a day job  ,  should of taken a picture after I brought it out of storage almost 7 years  , was covered in thick dust coved in spiders webs & stuff , i would turn the motor over regular ,  had oil in the bores , day i got it out of storge , removed plugs  refitted rocker shafts / arms  ,  pre oiled the motor ,  then spun it over on the starter few times , fitted plugs , poured fresh gas in the tank ,   turned the  electric pump on for a few seconds  ,  pumped the gas 6 times  2 short cranks i think it was ,     it fired up ,  after almost 7 years of silence ,  man that sound     through true duel 2 -1/2 "  exhausts with glass packs

Purchased by myself in 77' for $125.00. Originally equipped with a 383-2barrel, 4-speed/console. I pulled the original engine out in 78' for a 440 6-bbl.
Car last rolled in 85' and sat under a carport until last year.
Giant-scale R/C airplanes was the cause of neglect.
She's now my new project...

Anyone of you guys with multiple Chargers sitting in the garage, be interested in selling a 69' Charger if you have one that you don't think you will ever finish ??....doesn't hurt to ask!

I lost motivation a couple months ago and I mean big time. Had the car for sale even... Now I decided to keep going no matter how slow it goes. Hat off to guys like you that keep going for 8 years.
Now I want to keep going at a minimum of 6 or 8 hours a week. really cant spend more time at it form time to time.
I remember from my last full restoration that the day your car has new paint it starts to go alot better to stay focused...but its the welding and grinding sh*t that kills motivation every project again...
