Freaking HATE thieves as much as I do murderers and rapists.  On the bright side, at least you got the trailer and the car back-I hope you get the truck back and are taken care of by your insurance company...

they hid the car on the trailer behind a moose lodge in independence, mo so they could come back for it later.  tucked behind a dumpster/wall on the grass.  luckily, an employee spotted it early and saw that my tools were randomly spread across the trailer.  reported to police.  hood was not fastened down on front...very surprised that the hood wasn't flipped back and sprung.  everything was intact.  they did try to start it.  keys were moved from trunk lock to ignition.  soooooo glad I didn't charge the dead battery...but open headers may have woke up the neighborhood. lol

JB400

Anything custom about your truck?

Just glad they didn't keep the car.  Plus side to everything.  I hope they fingerprinted the keys and the car.

That's some very scary stuff.  I hope they find the truck but I'm sure you're real happy having the Charger back!
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

Leave it behind the dumptser!!!!!!!!!!
And take a couple of days off work.   Tell your boss your going hunting.............

rave_12000

I thought the same thing...hide back there with a shotgun.  really...just happy I got the car back...would have crushed me to lose it.  truck loaded with charger parts I hadn't unloaded yet...probably trashed.  gonna go check dumpster to see if they pitched anything.  ugh.

PlainfieldCharger

Sorry to hear this Mike, This world is full of bad too. Good luck in finding your truck and glad to hear you got the car back. Much harder to replace. Trucks are near and dear too though......I hope they get what they deserve!

Wow!  That Charger looks a lot like mine except for the wheel and tire package!
I hope your truck is recovered soon but, by now it may be in pieces in a chop-shop operation. I hope not, though.

Good luck in finding it!

Glad you got the car & trailer back, did lodge have security cameras in back. Maybe do something nice for the employee that found it. Dose not someone on here belong to the Kansas Mafia  ::). Find them & well you know what to do.

rave_12000

charge69...yep a lot like yours except white interior.  insurance made me wait 7 days before they totalled it out as loss.  so...truck shopping time.  lets see...6 pairs of my best window wing assemblies in there...my red exterior paint.  5 back glasses...tools, the list goes on.  crap.

i jump started the truck every time i drove it for 6 months...gave in and put a new battery in the weekend before.  the lesson here guys...dont replace a dead battery as a form of theft prevention.  baugh!

charge69

Sounds like a lot of your restoration parts were in the truck! I understand about replacing the battery as it would be a big hassle to jump-star every time you wanted to start it.  Just bad timing on the replacement but it seems to me to be too much of a coincidence. Anyone know about the battery change?

Not sure if you mean yours doesn't have white interior but, mine is white. Just a little hard to tell in the pics.

P.S. I just reread your first post and noted the rig was stolen out of your driveway. Don't know how long your driveway is but it has to be decent size to park a truck and trailer in it. It is still hard to believe it was a crime of opportunity. Possible, I guess but, I would look more toward friends, or friends of friends, that knew where it was.

rave_12000

Love the white intetior...mine is white, too.  Originsl rt.  Put it all back as original except added a 4 speed.  Power window car.  I live in a subdivision in the country.  Homes are 5 and 10 acre plots.  Drive is large with horseshoe.  Was parked in front of garage...but never again.

my nerf bars and push bar off my truck showed up on craigslist last weekend.  i pretended i ran a salvage yard and quizzed him about any other parts...hoping he would mention "charger parts".  i went to his place and looked around...haggled him on price a bit...then pulled out pic of my truck and let him know they were stolen.  he and his friend played dumb and sorry.  told them i was gonna be taking them or calling the cops.  loaded them up and left (and still called cops).  can't fix stupid.

sgt72charger

holy crap i would of tried to beat it out of them!!!
how did you know they where yours?
how did they get the parts?

Great find Mike, a little extra time to hold them accountable  SOB's

rave_12000

I even got the guys pic.  They are a perfect match and westins...and 3 blocks away from where my charger was hidden.  Ad stated off an 02 gmc 4 door.  Sounds familiar, eh?  Oh well.  Happy to take car on 1st drive this week.
