Coat hanger thingy - where does it go?

 had a flash back , reading this thread again  , seem to remember reading something about the new 68 charger , & going through options & standard equipment  ,  pretty sure the  word soft coat hooks was mentioned , think this was in a sales brochure  or Ad , think it was comparing a 67 to the new 68 ,  , not sure its something I have in my collection of mopar stuff or something ive read on line , like a picture of a dealer brochure  ,  

  found it    says coat hook  as in singular ?

Soft? Anyway, it does seem to indicate singular. Although it doesn't specify which side.

67's with the single hook were on the drivers side...that way the driver would not have to walk all the way around the car. Plus, it would be a bigger blind spot if clothing was hung on passenger side only

I swear, other than screwing the antenna mast on not one single part of this restoration has been simple. Complexity and ambiguity at every turn.

Your mast went on with out trouble ... both my cars ... what a project!  


BTW, my 67 has only one, my 73 has 2.

Well, I was referring to the mast only. I failed to mention the hour it took before that to file all the paint out of the mounting hole just to get the base to fit.

I out all the fasteners in before I installed the headliner so I could locate them.
I am looking for hooks still.

Just butting in...the shiny thing is the snap that holds the end of the seat belt.  The blue x marks the location of the screw hole for the coat hook.  The diagonal distance between the center of the two holes is 1 5/8" exactly (as far as my old eyes can tell.)

Ok, the snap was messing with my head. So in your pic the lower rear hole is where the coat hook mounts, correct? Except your pic shows the passenger side, and some cars didn't have one on that side... we think.
